Norwood, MA – Multi Vehicle Crash on I-95 with Injuries

Norwood, MA (July 13, 2018) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash that occurred in the left hand lanes of I-95 in Norwood Friday morning. The accident happened just before 7:00 am on I-95 north, near exit 11 at Neponset Street. The crash blocked both the travel lanes as well as the breakdown lane of the roadway, leaving only one lane for traffic to get by. Predictably, the crash caused major delays on the highway at one of the busiest travel times of the day.

An ambulance was on scene to treat those injured in the crash. The vehicles involved sustained heavy property damage as a result of the collision, however, the extent of injuries remains unknown at this time. Sharon, MA – Metal Worker Trapped in Machine, Rushed to Hospital

Sharon, MA (July 12, 2018) – A metal worker in Sharon, Massachusetts was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after becoming trapped in a machine on Thursday morning. Rescue crews rushed to the scene at Industrial Metal Products minutes after receiving the initial call for assistance. There, they located the man trapped inside a machine that is used to load metal sheets. It is unclear how the man became trapped in the machine.

Workers used airbags to eventually free the man from the machine. Chest compressions were performed on site and the man was immediately transported by medical helicopter to a hospital in Norwood. He was conscious upon being loaded into the helicopter.

There is no word on the man’s condition at this time. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident and no further details have been released.

Norwood, MA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash with Car

Norwood, MA (July 2, 2018) – A Monday afternoon motorcycle ride turned tragic for one person in Norwood, Massachusetts. At 1:18 pm, officers and emergency rescue workers were dispatched to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Route 1 North. The roadway was immediately shut down as officers investigated the crash.

The motorcyclist was pinned underneath the car following the collision and had to extricated, according to the Norwood Fire Department. A medical flight helicopter was quickly called in due to the serious nature of the crash. The helicopter transported the injured motorcycle rider to a hospital in Boston for treatment. There is no word on the motorcyclist’s condition at this time or what may have caused the crash.

Norwood, MA – Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck

Norwood, MA (June 27, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck Tuesday while walking along the road in Norwood, Massachusetts. Norwood police responded to a call for a pedestrian accident Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, they located a victim in the roadway suffering from injuries. After further investigation, police determined that the victim had be struck by a passing vehicle. Along with police, EMS also responded to the crash. The pedestrian suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Boston for treatment.

The Norwood police are actively investigating this crash. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the police investigation. There is no word yet on the cause of the crash or if police expect to charge the driver. The injured pedestrian was not immediately identified.

Norwood, MA (June 26, 2018) – A vehicle accident has been reported to police in Norwood, Massachsetts on Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred just after 11 am along Route 1 at Morse Street. Multiple cars are involved in this crash. Police and emergency officials are actively working the scene at this time. Unfortunately, serious injuries were sustained in this collision but there is no further clarification regarding the nature or extent of the injuries at this time. The injured were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Motorists along the route experienced heavy delays approaching the accident. Police are working to investigate the accident and clear the scene but there is no word on when the roadway is expected to re-open. No further details are immediately available. Eighty Year Old Pedestrian Dies in Car Accident While Crossing the Street in Norwood

Today, an elderly woman carrying flowers was crossing the street in front of Norwood Hospital when she was hit by a car.

The accident happened at 11:50 a.m. on Washington Street at the intersection of Bond Street, where the hospital is located. Although she was immediately attended to in the street by doctors and nurses, she was then taken inside the hospital for surgery where she could not be saved due to the extent of her injuries and she later died.

The vehicle that struck and killed her was a grey Toyota Rav 4 Sports Utility Vehicle that was driving northbound.
