Melrose, MA (July 10, 2018) – A hit and run in Melrose early Monday morning left an 85 year old man fighting for his life. Previously, we reported this to you yesterday. The man was injured just after 5:00 am Monday while walking along a street in Melrose. He was out for morning exercise when a wrong way driver struck him. As a result of the crash, he was left with life-threatening injuries.
Police have identified the injured man as 85 year old Frank Bozzo. Bozzo is a well known Catholic School archivist and Catholic father in his neighborhood. Neighbor Dave Curran, who heard the collision and rushed to Bozzo’s aid called it “a shame” that anyone would commit such a horrific act against another person. Melrose Police Chief Michael Lyle says police are focusing their search on a vehicle which may have unexplained damage to the passenger’s side. Police have yet to locate any suspects and have not released a description of the vehicle that hit Bozzo as of early Tuesday.
