Worcester, MA – Police Respond to Accident on Salisbury Street

Worcester, MA (July 8, 2018) – Worcester Police responded to a report of an accident with personal injuries on Salisbury Street early Saturday morning. The call to police was received around 4:00 am and concerned a multiple vehicle accident with injuries in the 600 block of Salisbury. Officers with the Worcester Police Department along with medical personnel reported to the accident scene. The scene was quickly secured by officers as they attempted to survey the damage caused by the accident.

At least one person was hurt in this crash and required the attention of medical technicians. We have no word on their condition at this time. Everyone involved in this accident stayed on scene to cooperate with investigating officers. Worcester Police are still investigating the crash at this time. There is no information on those involved or the cause of the wreck.

Mansfield, MA – Man Suffers Significant Injury in Fireworks Accident

Mansfield, MA (July 8, 2018) – The 4th of July week is ending with more fireworks-related injuries across our state. On Saturday, a 38 year old man from Blackstone, Massachusetts suffered a significant injury while trying to light a firework in a parking lot.

The firework is described as “consumer-grade.” The man suffered a significant hand injury when the firework exploded as it was being lighted. A nearby off-duty police officer heard the explosion and ran to assist the injured man. The man was bleeding heavily from his hand and arm. A tourniquet was applied to slow the bleeding and the man was rushed to a nearby hospital. There is no additional word on his condition.

Massachusetts State Police also responded to the scene and are currently looking into the explosion. The case remains under investigation at this time.

Additionally, you are required to have uninsured motorist protection in the same amounts.

Sandwich, MA – One Hurt in Rollover Crash

Sandwich, MA (July 7, 2018) – A rollover crash took place in Sandwich, Massachusetts Friday evening, leaving one person hospitalized. The accident happened around 11:30 pm on Route 6, between exits 2 and 3. A vehicle was traveling in the eastbound lane of the highway when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and crashed the car. The car rolled over before coming to rest.

Police and fire officials responded to the crash scene. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle on their own before police arrival. The driver sustained injuries in the rollover and was transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital for further evaluation. The driver’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating this accident and have released no additional information as of Saturday morning.

Barnstable, MA – Several Injured in Crash on Route 132

Barnstable, MA (July 6, 2018) – Police responded to a crash with injuries in Barnstable, Massachusetts on Thursday evening. A call came in around 10:30 regarding an accident with injuries on Route 132, near Shootflying Hill Road. Multiple vehicles were involved in this crash. Police have not released any cause for the collision nor have they identified the vehicles or drivers that were involved.

Multiple ambulances from both West Barnstable and Hyannis were on scene shortly after 10:30. The injured were transported to a local hospital. None of the injuries are being reported by authorities as life threatening. Barnstable police have taken over the crash investigation and are looking into a number of factors concerning the cause of the crash. No other details were immediately available.

Pelham, MA – Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Car

Pelham, MA (July 6, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck by a car in Pelham, Massachusetts Thursday. The collision happened during the morning hours. Police have released few details about the accident and have not said where it occurred. We do know that a 71 year old woman was walking along the side of the road when a car hit her. She suffered injuries to her leg as a result of the impact.

The woman was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated and she is expected to make a full recovery. No charges has been issued against the driver at this time but police say that they are still investigating the crash and that charges may come at a later date.

Hadley, MA – Driver Hospitalized Following Serious Crash

Hadley, MA (July 5, 2018) – A driver in Hadley, Massachusetts is in the hospital following a serious crash on Thursday afternoon. The crash happened on South Maple Street near Mill Valley Road and Moody Bridge Road just before 5:00 pm. When police arrived on scene, they found a car flipped onto its hood lying in a ditch off the side of the road. The driver was unconscious inside the vehicle. A telephone pole was knocked over and strewn across the roadway.

Medical personnel and police worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver was rushed to Baystate Medical Center with unknown injuries. The roadway was closed for several hours while policed worked at the accident scene and the telephone pole was repaired. There is no word at this time on why crash occurred.

Marshfield, MA – Boy Suffers Second Degree Burns from Fireworks

Marshfield, MA (July 4, 2018) – A boy in Marshfield, Massachusetts suffered severe burns in a fireworks accident on Tuesday. The boy was on a beach Tuesday when he was injured by the exploding firework. Police responded to Farragut Road around 9:30 pm, shortly after the explosion occurred. There, they found the boy suffering from burns to his legs.

An ambulance transported the boy to South Shore Hospital for treatment. The boy has second degree burns and is expected to remain in the hospital indefinitely while he recovers. Police have not released his age or provided additional details surrounding the accident. It is unknown if the boy was being supervised by an adult when the injuries occurred.

Lancaster, Mass – Man Escapes Fiery Crash Thanks to Good Samaritans

Lancaster, MA (July 4, 2018) – A crash in Lancaster, Massachusetts on Tuesday left an elderly man in the hospital with injuries but also thankful to still be alive.

Firefighters in Lancaster say that the man was traveling on I-190 south near Lancaster when his car suddenly veered off the road and into the woods. The car hit several trees before coming to rest. The vehicle then caught fire with the man still inside. Several bystanders saw the accident and rushed to the man’s aide. They were able to pull him from the vehicle just before it became engulfed in flames. This action almost certainly saved the man’s life.

Medical workers came to the scene and evaluated the man for injuries. He was transported to Umass Medical Center for further evaluation but is expected to be ok. The Good Samaritans identities are not known according to Lancaster Fire Chief Michael Hanson.

South Dennis, MA – Two Vehicle Crash at Old Bass River Road

South Dennis, MA (July 3, 2018) – Monday was an extremely busy day for police in Dennis, Massachusetts. Police responded to at least five multiple vehicle collisions across the city, with at least three of the collisions resulting in injury.

At 10:45 am, Dennis Police responded to a call for a two car accident with injuries at the intersection of Old Bass River Road and Bob Crowell Road. An ambulance also responded to the scene based on initial reports of injury. EMS treated two people for injuries and transported them to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Officers are still investigating this crash in an effort to determine the sequence of events leading up to the accident. At this time, no official cause has been released nor have the involved individuals been identified. No other information was available as of Tuesday morning.
