Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-90An early morning crash along route 3 sent at least one person to the hospital with injuries on Wednesday.  Rockland Police received a call just after 5:00 am regarding an accident with injuries in the travel lanes of the highway just past exit 14.  Police, fire and EMS responded to the scene of the crash and located the injured victim.  Medical personnel provided first aid on site and transported the individual to a local hospital for evaluation of their injuries.  The injuries are not believed to be either serious or life-threatening at this time.

Predictably, traffic was heavily impacted by the crash.  The travel lanes of the highway were blocked for some time by the car involved and later by officers investigating the crash.  Following the clean-up, residual delays continued to exist in the travel lanes.  Traffic has since been restored to normal flow as the accident is subject to further investigation.

Accident with Minor Injuries at Zakim Bridge A midday crash on I-93 caused injuries and major traffic delays for motorists on Tuesday.  I-93 was the site of the crash on Route 128 SB at Exit 37.  The call came in to the Reading, Massachusetts Police and Fire Departments around noon.  First responders made their way out to the accident scene where they discovered a multiple car crash in the right lane of the highway.  There were also injuries reported in this collision, although it is not known at this time whether the injuries are serious or life-threatening to those involved.

Police and emergency personnel worked on the scene for a significant time tending to injured victims, clearing the scene of debris and working to resume normal traffic flow following the accident.  The right lanes of I-93 were blocked by this crash.  There were significant residual delays in traffic approaching the accident scene.  The delays persisted even after police cleared the accident scene and the involved vehicles were moved from the roadway.  There is no word on the identities of those involved, the injured victims or the cause of the crash.  The investigation remains ongoing.

800px-Pensacola_Beach_FL_SR_399_west01-300x225An early morning crash in Cape Cod sent two people to the hospital early Tuesday morning.   The crash occurred in the coastal village of Marstons Mills at Route 28 and Staysail Circle just after 6:30 am.  The Barnstable Police and Fire Departments were called to the crash scene at that time, according to Barnstable Police Sergeant Eugene Desruisseaux.

When police arrived on scene they discovered two people suffering from injuries inflicted in the accident.  According to firefighters on scene, one of the injured victims was sent to Cape Cod Hospital while the other victim was admitted to South Shore Hospital.  The second crash victim suffered injuries severe enough that they had to be admitted to a trauma center at South Shore.

This wreck remains under police investigation.  No details were offered regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of the victims.  The current condition of the injured individuals is not known at this time.

In disturbing news out of Boston, a motorist is accused of a hit and run crash causing personal injury.  The incident allegedly took place around 7:00 pm on Monday evening at Franklin Park Road within the Boston City limits.   Police initially responded to a call regarding an accident at that location and dispatchers sent  Officer Joseph Simonson of the BPD out to investigate.

When Officer Simonson arrived he discovered one person suffering from injuries received in the accident.  The injured victim was tended to by medical personnel while Officer Simonson investigated the crash.  After speaking with witnesses on scene, Officer Simonson determined that this was a multi vehicle crash and that one driver fled the scene before police arrival.  The BPD is classifying this incident as a hit and run with personal injuries.   The driver has not been apprehended at this time and there is no word on the condition of the injured victim.  Police could file criminal charges against the hit and run driver.

Hit and Run Accidents

download-1A pedestrian was hurt in an accident which occurred on Monday in Boston.  A call came in to the Boston Police Department just before 7:00 am regarding a pedestrian accident with injuries.  Upon receiving word of the crash, dispatchers immediately sent a Boston Police officer to the scene to investigate.   Officer Eliot Telisnder handled this particular crash investigation on behalf of the department.

When he got to the scene at Dartmouth Street, Officer Telisnor encountered a pedestrian that had been injured while walking in the roadway.  The pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle and injured in the process.  The driver of the vehicle remained on scene to cooperate with police investigation.  The injured pedestrian was treated at the scene by EMTs.  Police have not indicated that the driver will be charged, however, it is unclear exactly what happened to cause this pedestrian accident.  Neither the pedestrian or the driver have been identified at this time.

Boston Pedestrian Accidents

images-1-3Tuesday morning got off to a rough start in Sherewsbury, Massachusetts with a mutiple car accident.  The accident occurred at Route 290, near Route 140.  The incident happened very early in the morning, just after 1:00 am.  Shrewsbury police officers came to the scene of the crash and discovered that the impact of the collision had caused one vehicle to roll over onto its side, pinning the driver inside momentarily.

Officers noted that the crash involved injuries.  The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.  The crash resulted in difficulty for motorists passing through the area, although because it occurred at an off-peak hour, the effect on traffic was not as great as it would have been otherwise.  The names of those injured and their conditions are not available at this time.  Police remained on scene for a brief period of time to investigate before leaving and re-opening the area for traffic.

Car Crashes into Restaurant in PeabodyThe Worcester Police Department began the week by investigating a hit and run collision Sunday night.  The collision occurred on Perkins Street, just west of the downtown area.  Police officers were dispatched to the scene at around 9:00 pm in reference to the accident involving two motor vehicles.  When they arrived, however, they were able to locate only one of the vehicles.   As it turns out, the other driver decided to flee from the accident scene before police could arrive.

After taking statements and measurements from the scene of the crash, officers classified the incident as a hit and run.  Unfortunately, there were also injuries associated with this hit and run accident.  There is at least no indication that the injuries sustained were severe enough to be life-threatening.  Although there is no word on charges, it is expected that the driver who left the scene will eventually face charges related to leaving the scene of an accident.  At this time, the driver has not been apprehended by police.  The wreck investigation remains ongoing.

Accident on Route 95 at Exit 8An accident on Route 6 in the Cape Cod area made the work day a bit longer for motorists trying to get home.  The accident happened just before 6:00 pm in Barnstable, Massachusetts near exit 6.  The accident involved two vehicles. Massachusetts State Police were called to the crash scene to investigate.

The exact sequence of events in the crash is still under investigation by police at this time.  However, one of the vehicles involved in the accident was located in the woods off the highway.  The other vehicle remained on or near the roadway.   At least one person was transported to Cape Cod Hospital following the collision.  There is no word on that person’s condition or their identity at this time.   Traffic was slow and was backed up for a considerable distance approaching the scene of the accident.  Eventually, State Police were able to clear the roadway and traffic returned to normal.

Accident with Injury on Exit 1 on Route 95A crash with injuries was reported to police in Rockland, Massachusetts this morning.  The crash happened on Route 3, southbound at exit 14.  Rockland Police quickly arrived on scene after receiving reports of the accident.  Officers secured the accident scene.  Traffic was backed up while the investigation was ongoing and also while medical personnel at the scene tended to the injured victims.

This crash was one of several rush hour crashes that occurred on Massachusetts streets and highways Monday morning.  It does not appear at this time that any of the injuries sustained in this crash were life-threatening.  After the investigation was completed, traffic on Route 3 began moving at a normal rate.

Vehicle Accident on June StreetWorcester Police received many reports of injury accidents throughout the day on Sunday.  One such report came in around late morning.  At approximately 11:00 am police received the first of multiple disturbing calls that day regarding hit and runs in the city.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene at the 1 block of Siegel Street.  Officers investigated and discovered that the call contained accurate details regarding a hit and run.  When they arrived, officers spoke to at least one person who had been injured in an accident involving a motor vehicle.  However, they were unable to speak to anyone else associated with the crash because the driver had left the scene before police could get there.

Officers are classifying this incident as a hit and run.  Although we know there were injuries we cannot provide any additional specifics on the extent of the injuries at this time.   There is no report of the injuries being life-threatening.  Worcester police are still searching for the driver and have filed this case as incident report number 2018000065535.
