Whately, MA (June 27, 2018) – An ambulance was involved in a rollover crash Wednesday morning in Whately, Massachusetts leading to serious injuries for all five occupants. The crash happened around 9:00 am on at mile marker 32 on Interstate 91.
Police say five people were aboard the ambulance when it rolled over. Initial accounts are that four of the five people were rescue workers while the the other was a patient inside the ambulance. All five individuals were identified as adults. All but one lane of the highway was shut down while police and emergency workers were on scene. The five victims were transported to Baystate Medical Center for treatment. There is no update on their conditions. The affected lanes were closed for about an hour before re-opening for traffic after the accident was cleared. There is no word on what caused the ambulance to roll over.
