Vehicle Accident on June StreetWorcester Police received many reports of injury accidents throughout the day on Sunday.  One such report came in around late morning.  At approximately 11:00 am police received the first of multiple disturbing calls that day regarding hit and runs in the city.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene at the 1 block of Siegel Street.  Officers investigated and discovered that the call contained accurate details regarding a hit and run.  When they arrived, officers spoke to at least one person who had been injured in an accident involving a motor vehicle.  However, they were unable to speak to anyone else associated with the crash because the driver had left the scene before police could get there.

Officers are classifying this incident as a hit and run.  Although we know there were injuries we cannot provide any additional specifics on the extent of the injuries at this time.   There is no report of the injuries being life-threatening.  Worcester police are still searching for the driver and have filed this case as incident report number 2018000065535.

images-1-2Hit and run accidents are some of the worst types of accidents that we encounter as personal injury attorneys.  Unfortunately, there is news coming out of Worcester, Massachusetts that a hit and run took place around 2:00 am on July 18th.  That is when Worcester Police responded to an injury accident call in the 200 block of Providence Street.  When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that an accident involving two vehicles.  One of the vehicles, however, had left the scene prior to police arrival.  The remaining participants in the crash remained on scene.  Officers noted that injuries were sustained in the crash and medical treatment was given.

The Worcester Police Department has released few other details about the hit and run at this time as their investigation into the accident continues.  In the meantime, our thoughts are with the injured and we certainly hope that police are able to locate the responsible driver as soon as possible so that all involved are required to answer for their actions.

Accidents Involving Hit and Run

Motorcycle Accident in BrocktonA hit and run in Revere, Massachusetts occurred early Sunday morning, leaving the bicyclist with severe injuries.  Revere police were dispatched to the scene at around 2:30 am.  The crash took place at Revere Beach Parkway.  Upon arrival on scene, officers located the bicyclist in the roadway.   The bicycle itself was found lodged underneath the frame of the vehicle.  The driver, however, had fled the scene by the time that police showed up.

Police later located the drier about a mile away in Chelsea.  He was immediately taken into custody on charges related to the crash.  The bicyclist suffered severe injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.  Although the injuries are described as serious, there is no further word on the extent of injuries or whether they are life-threatening.  The identities of those involved have not been released at this time.

https://www.bostonpersonalinjuryattorneyblog.com/files/2018/06/2000px-Injured.svg_-300x300.pngA hit and run took place in Worcester, Massachusetts on Saturday evening, June 16th.  The incident occurred in the 100 block of Belmont Street.  Worcester police officers were dispatched out to the scene when the call came in around 9:00 pm.  Upon arriving on scene, officers located a victim who had been injured in a crash with another vehicle.  The driver who caused the crash, however, fled the scene before authorities could arrive.  The injured victim received treatment from emergency medical personnel on scene.

Police have not provided a description of the vehicle that they are looking for in the hit and run accident nor have they released the identity of the injured victim or the extent of their injuries.  We certainly hope that they are able to locate the person responsible for this accident.

Injury Accident on Walk Hill StreetA hit and run Thursday morning in Fall River, Massachusetts left one person dead.  29 year old Christopher Mills on Taunton was driving a motorcycle north on Highland Avenue.  That is when a box truck, driven by 37 year old Ivan Dominguez, attempted to make a turn onto Courtney Street.  Dominguez’s truck collided with the motorcycle, leaving Mills with serious injuries.  He was transported to a hospital and later died.

Dominguez fled the scene of the accident.   Accident reconstruction later showed a 25-30 foot path of skid marks where Mills attempted to stop before contacting the box truck, indicating that the truck made an unsafe turn.  Dominguez was later located by police and arrested at his home, where he has been charged with fatal hit and run.  The accident remains under further investigation.

Judith MosesAn unlicensed 17-year-old boy was high when he ran over a 64-year-old Medford woman who was walking at the time. The 17-year-old was driving an SUV at the time of the accident. The Medford woman lost her life.

After he struck and killed the 64-year-old woman, he also seriously injured a couple and killed the dog that they were taking for a walk at the time. The teen has been identified but his name has not been released because of his age.

The driver behind the fatal hit-and-run crash from April 9th, has been identified as 79-year-old, Paul Graffe. His attorney issued a statement indicating Revere fatal hit and runthat the man believed he had hit a pothole on Route 145, the scene of the fatal accident. It was not until he was home, and his family assessed the damage on the car that he realized what happened Monday evening. On that Monday evening he also experienced chest pains and was rushed to the hospital. He was released this past Friday, April 13th.

Revere Police Headquarters reports that there was no indication of impairment of the driver by drugs or alcohol. Mr. Gaffe, through his attorney, is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Fatal Hit-and-Run Accidents

On Friday, April 13, 2018, the Massachusetts State Police finally made contact with a man suspected of being the hit-and-run driver that killed Mary Ann Fiandaca, a Revere resident. Revere hit and run deathThe incident took place on Monday evening on Revere Beach Parkway. An elderly man ran into Ms. Fiandaca and then sped away. She was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She was 44.

Now that the state police have been able to make contact with him, the investigation is in full swing to determine why he ran into Ms. Fiandaca with such force.

At noon on April 12th, in Brockton, a vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Nilsson Avenue from Warren Avenue and collided into a Honda Accord and another driver. The vehicle fled the scene and Brockton Police triple car accident hit and run Brocktonlater uncovered it on Fulton Street where they learned it was reported stolen prior to the accident.

The triple car collision resulted in an injury the driver of the Honda Accord, who was ultimately hospitalized. The Honda Accord was smashed into a utility pole. There were several witnesses who gave their observations to the police.
