East Sandwich, MA (July 3, 2018) – A medical helicopter was called to the scene of a serious accident on Monday in East Sandwich, Massachusetts. The accident happened around 6:30 pm on Route 6A at Ploughed Neck Road. There, police say a motorcyclist was traveling along when he collided with a UPS delivery truck. Sandwich Police and Fire Department officials came to the scene. Sandwich Fire Department Captain Robert Black reported that the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the crash. A medical helicopter was called in to airlift the motorcyclist to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for treatment.
Police have not said how the accident occurred as they continue to investigate. Neither the motorcyclist nor the UPS driver have been identified. More information will be relayed should it later become available.
