Authorities responded to a two car crash on I-93 Friday morning. Upon arrival, they located two vehicles off the left shoulder of the highway. The crash occurred around 2:00 pm in the afternoon and caused traffic in the left lanes to be re-routed as authorities closed the road to investigate. Traffic was backed up for a period of time in the direction of the accident while police remained on scene.
Following investigation, at least one driver was transported to the hospital as a result of the crash. Police determined that the crash was caused due to a driver suffering from what was described as a medical condition, although there is no further word on what the actual medical condition is. Neither of the drivers have been identified by authorities and the extent of injuries is unknown at this time. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
Medical Events
When we think of car accidents, we usually think of an intentional act which causes the crash. We do not often think of a medical event or incident as the main force behind a collision. However, each year, people suffer from heart attacks, strokes and other incapacitating events while driving a vehicle. Of course, when such an event occurs the driver loses control of their vehicle and a collision is imminent. Due to the lack of control, the resulting collisions are usually serious and even fatal. Of course, this is a very unfortunate event for everyone involved in the crash.
