Vehicle Accident with Injury on Bowdoin StreetBoston, MA (July 13, 2018) – At least six people were hurt Friday when a school bus and several cars were involved in an accident in the Ted Williams Tunnel.  Troopers with the Massachusetts State Police responded to the westbound lanes of the tunnel in reference to a report of an accident involving several vehicles.  There is no definitive word on the exact number of vehicles involved in the accident.

Several people were taken to area hospitals with injuries.  The injuries ranged in nature from minor to serious.  It is not clear whether any life-threatening injuries were suffered.  Officials confirmed that no one on the school bus was injured.  The westbound lanes of the Tunnel were closed while police investigated the crash.   Police have not released any additional details regarding the crash at this time.

Cape Cod Mall, Hyannis Car CrashCambridge, MA (July 13, 2018) – A Cambridge man was hurt in a hit and run that took place along Massachusetts Avenue on Wednesday.  Cambridge Police were called to the Central Square area in reference to a hit and run on Wednesday just after 10:00 pm.   Once on scene, they discovered that a man had been hit by a vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle fled the scene shortly after hitting the man and was not present when police arrived to investigate.

The man was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident.  Police have been unable to locate the hit and run driver as of Friday.  The investigation into the crash remains ongoing and the hit and run driver is expected to be charged once they are apprehended.

download-3Saugus, MA (July 13, 2018) – Police in Saugus, Massachusetts responded to a crash with injuries along Route 1 on Thursday morning.   The accident occurred on Lynn Fells Parkway just after 8:00 am and involved multiple vehicles.  Authorities reported that injuries were sustained in this crash.  Medical personnel arrived on scene, along with police and fire officials.  The injured victims were provided with medical treatment for their injuries.  At this time, there is no information on the severity or extent of injuries suffered in the accident.

The southbound lanes of Route 1 experienced heavy delays leading to the accident scene as police worked on site to investigate the crash and clear the roadway for motorists.  Traffic was backed up for miles, all the way to nearby Lynnfield.  Officers remained at the scene for about an hour.  Residual delays were experienced after the crash was cleared.

The accident remains under investigation with Saugus Police on Friday morning.

Accident on Route 95 at Exit 8Norwood, MA (July 13, 2018) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash that occurred in the left hand lanes of I-95 in Norwood Friday morning.   The accident happened just before 7:00 am on I-95 north, near exit 11 at Neponset Street.   The crash blocked both the travel lanes as well as the breakdown lane of the roadway, leaving only one lane for traffic to get by.  Predictably, the crash caused major delays on the highway at one of the busiest travel times of the day.

An ambulance was on scene to treat those injured in the crash.  The vehicles involved sustained heavy property damage as a result of the collision, however, the extent of injuries remains unknown at this time.  The accident scene is active and police are still investigating the crash.   We will provide you with any further information as it becomes available at a later time.

I-93 Crash Results in Serious Injuries, Highway Shut DownFranklin, MA (July 13, 2018) – A two car crash on I-495 in Franklin caused injuries and left motorists experiencing major delays along their Friday morning commute.   The accident was first reported around 6:30 am in the northbound lanes of the highway, just before exit 17.  Two vehicles were involved in the crash.  Although it is not clear how the vehicles collided, one car was in the breakdown lane of the roadway while the other was stranded in the median.

An ambulance was on scene to assist the accident victims but there is no word on the extent of injuries at this time.  Traffic experienced extremely heavy delays in the northbound lanes of 495 while police and other personnel worked to clear the accident scene.   Onlooker delays from the other side of the roadway are also expected with the crash.

1099135_motorcycle_-_blur_focus-300x200Pittsfield, MA (July 13, 2018) – A motorcyclist from New Hampshire suffered serious injuries on Thursday after a collision with a pickup truck on Route 8, near Cheshire Road.  Pittsfield police have identified the motorcyclist as Cassius Bradford of Stamford, NH.  Bradford was traveling north on Route 8 around 1:30 pm when he encountered a Ford pickup truck attempting to make a left turn out of a local business.  The truck and motorcycle collided in the roadway.  The truck driver has been identified by police as 56 year old John Bailey of Cheshire.

An ambulance transported Bradford to Berkshire Medical Center with arm and leg injuries.  Although they are serious, Bradford’s injuries do not appear life-threatening according to police.  Officer David Hallas of the Berkshire Police Department investigated the crash along with the Pittsfield Police Department, Lanesborough Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.

Police are still investigating the crash and have asked for anyone with further information or who may have witnessed the crash to come forward in order to assist the investigation.

62565_white_semi-truck1-225x300Bourne, MA (July 13, 2018) – A collision between a tractor trailer and a car in Bourne, Massachusetts on Thursday sent two children to the hospital with injuries.  The crash occurred along Route 6 Thursday afternoon, near the Sagamore Bridge.  Police have not said how the crash occurred, however, the crash was one of at least three that were reported on Route 6 around the same time.  The resulting effects of the crash caused traffic to be snarled on Route 6 for several hours, leaving motorists feeling stranded and frustrated.

Two children were transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation following the collision.  Fortunately, their injuries are not deemed life-threatening.  The tractor-trailer driver was not immediately cited and it is unknown whether police expect to issue any charges at this time.  This accident remains under investigation at the Bourne Police Department.

images-2-1Brewster, MA (July 13, 2018) – A three vehicle crash took place in Brewster, Massachusetts on Thursday.  The crash occurred along Route 6, just past the exit for Freemans Way.  In total, the crash involved three vehicles.  Brewster police responded to the crash Thursday afternoon after receiving reports of the accident as well as personal injuries.

One person was hurt in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. The crash remains under investigation by authorities in Brewster as of Friday morning.  Police have not released a cause of the collision.  The crash, along with two others in the area, caused significant traffic delays for motorists using Route 6.

Hadley motorcycle accidentFalmouth, MA (July 13, 2018) – A motorcyclist in Falmouth, Massachusetts had to be airlifted following a crash with a truck on Thursday.  Falmouth police responded to a call regarding this accident at 4:06 pm.  The collision occurred at 450 Sippiwissett Road, according to Falmouth Police Lieutenant Sean Doyle.  The motorcycle, which was driven by a 30 year old man from Bourne, collided with a Toyota Tundra operated by a 66 year old Falmouth man.

The motorcyclist was driven by ambulance to a landing zone where he was then transported to by medical helicopter to a hospital in Boston.   The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in the crash and remains in the hospital on Friday.  The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening according to police.  Falmouth police are still investigating the cause of the crash and have not released any further details at this time.

Lowell Pedestrian FatalityPlymouth, MA (July 13, 2018) – A pedestrian in Plymouth, Massachusetts was hospitalized after being struck by a car on Thursday night.  The pedestrian, whom police have identified as a 70 year old man, was walking along Water Street late Thursday when the collision occurred.  An ambulance, along with police officers, arrived on the scene shortly after the incident.  The ambulance transported the man to South Shore Hospital with lower leg injuries that are not life-threatening in nature.

Police are actively investigating the cause of the crash.  It appears as though the driver remained on scene and assisted the law enforcement investigation.  There is no word on any charges arising from the accident at this and officers have not identified the vehicle or driver that hit the pedestrian.
