Crash on Highland Avenue in Needham

On June 13, the Needham Police Department received information about a two-vehicle accident. The accident was reported to police around 6:45 in the morning and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the news of the collision was received. The incident occurred at the intersection of Highland Avenue and West Street.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a man from Lynn had been operating a motor vehicle without a license to operate. The man subsequently caused an accident with one another vehicle. One of the individuals in the crash sustained injuries, and they were provided medical treatment on the site of the accident. No fatalities were reported.

Vehicle Accident with Injury on Bowdoin Street

On June 12, a car accident in Boston was reported to the Boston Police Department. Police were alerted to this accident around 8:30 in the morning. Fire and police were dispatched to the scene and arrived quickly after receiving news of the incident.

The accident occurred at 307 Bowdoin Street. Upon arriving at the scene, it was discovered that one individual had sustained injuries in the crash. EMTs administered medical care to this individual at the scene, but the extent of their injuries is still under review. Officer Devon Cornelius was one of the first to arrive, and he took statements from those involved in the accidents and witnesses. There were no fatalities reported, and this accident is still being investigated by police.

Bike Accident on Congress Street

On June 11, an accident involving a vehicle and a bicycle was reported to the Boston Police Department. The police received a report of the incident that occurred around 10:15 in the morning. Emergency authorities including police and fire crews were sent to the area quickly afterward. The accident occurred on Congress Street in Boston.

Officer William Hull was one of the first to arrive at the scene and other emergency personnel arrived shortly afterward as support. First responders found that the cyclist had been injured in the accident, and medical care was given to this individual. The extent of their injuries is still being determined. No fatalities were reported in this incident. The area was secured and the accident cleared within the hour.

Injury Accident on Cornell Street

On June 12, the Boston Police Department received information about a vehicle accident that involved two vehicles. The accident occurred on Cornell Street in Boston and was reported to police around 6:30 in the morning. Emergency personnel including fire and police were dispatched to the scene and arrived quickly to the accident.

Once arriving at the scene, they discovered that one individual had suffered from injuries in the accident. They were given medical care at the scene by EMTs, and the extent of their injuries is still being determined. However, no fatalities were reported.

Officer Andrew Minichiello was one of the first to respond at the scene and take initial reports of the accident. Statements were taken from victims and others involved in the accident.

Three People Seriously Injured in Collision

On June 11, police received a report of a serious vehicle accident involving two vehicles. The accident was reported in the morning, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly.

Upon arrival, they found that a Toyota SUV being driven by Andrew Brockelman of Boxford was traveling northbound when a Mazda being driven by Richard Spiess of Southwest Harbor was traveling southbound when the two vehicles collided.

Spiess and his wife, Lee Ann, were flown by helicopter to a hospital in Lewiston. He is listed in critical condition. Brockelman was also injured, but he is listed in fair condition. The accident occurred near Hazelwood Drive and remains under investigation by the Carrabassett Valley Police Department. No fatalities were reported at the scene.

Accident with Car Fire in Chelmsford

On June 12, Massachusetts State Police received a report about a multi-vehicle accident involving injuries. The incident was reported to the department around 8:20 in the morning.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene quickly, and, upon arrival, they discovered that one of the cars involved in the crash had caught on fire as a result of the crash. Fire crews proceeded to put out the fire as EMTs administered medical care to the one individual who had been injured in the accident. The extent of the injuries is still under review. However, no fatalities were reported. The accident occurred on I-495 northbound in Chelmsford.

Authorities closed the right lane as the scene was cleared. The normal flow of traffic resumed within the hour.

Worker Dies After Falling Out of Tree

On June 11, police and emergency crews received a report of a workplace accident involving a worker falling from a tree. The accident occurred on Monday and was reported to Medway Police and Fire Communications Center through a 911 emergency call stating a man at 27 Broken Tree Road fell approximately 30 feet out of a tree.

Upon arrival, an ambulance transported Lewis P. Umbenhower III, 38, to Milford Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced dead while at the hospital. Preliminary investigations into the incident indicate Umbenhower was cutting a portion of a tree when he fell. The incident is under investigation by OSHA as well as local police. Umbenhower was an independent contractor.

Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-90

On June 12, a tractor-trailer accident caused traffic delays. The accident was reported to Massachusetts State Police around 6 in the morning. The accident occurred on I-90 in Palmer on the eastbound side of the freeway and involved one other vehicle.

Emergency crews including police and fire were dispatched to the scene and arrived quickly. They discovered that the accident was caused one individual to sustain injuries, and emergency medical care was administered at the scene. The extent of their injuries is still being determined. Police directed traffic away from the area, and, within the hour, the accident was cleared and traffic resumed as normal. There were no fatalities reported in this accident.

Crash on Mass Pike in Palmer Injures One

On June 12, State Police responded to a car accident that occurred on the Massachusetts Pike eastbound in Palmer. Police were first informed of this accident around 5:30 in the morning and emergency crews responded to the scene shortly thereafter.

Upon arrival at Exit 8, Palmer firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one woman from a vehicle. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries, but the extent of her condition is still being determined. However, no fatalities were reported. Fire and police authorities closed the left lane for a time while personnel remained on-scene and documented the incident.

Massachusetts State Police reopened all lines within a couple of hours. Police took statements from witnesses and those involved in the accident. This crash remains under investigation.

Update: Police Identify 4 Killed in Crash

On June 11, an update has become available about a car crash reported on earlier this week. The car crash occurred in Berwick and killed four people. Initially, the names of the victims were not released, but these names have now been released by police.

According to authorities on the scene, the crash happened when 31-year-old Robert Howard of Buxton made an improper pass and slid into the path of another vehicle. Howard was one of the people who passed away. Two passengers in his car, Kevin Clark, 29, and Davin Clark, 7, were also killed. Barbara Allen, 73, also died. She was a passenger in the other vehicle. Four other people also sustained injuries in the crash. This incident took place on Route 4.
