images-1-3Tuesday morning got off to a rough start in Sherewsbury, Massachusetts with a mutiple car accident.  The accident occurred at Route 290, near Route 140.  The incident happened very early in the morning, just after 1:00 am.  Shrewsbury police officers came to the scene of the crash and discovered that the impact of the collision had caused one vehicle to roll over onto its side, pinning the driver inside momentarily.

Officers noted that the crash involved injuries.  The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.  The crash resulted in difficulty for motorists passing through the area, although because it occurred at an off-peak hour, the effect on traffic was not as great as it would have been otherwise.  The names of those injured and their conditions are not available at this time.  Police remained on scene for a brief period of time to investigate before leaving and re-opening the area for traffic.

Car Crashes into Restaurant in PeabodyThe Worcester Police Department began the week by investigating a hit and run collision Sunday night.  The collision occurred on Perkins Street, just west of the downtown area.  Police officers were dispatched to the scene at around 9:00 pm in reference to the accident involving two motor vehicles.  When they arrived, however, they were able to locate only one of the vehicles.   As it turns out, the other driver decided to flee from the accident scene before police could arrive.

After taking statements and measurements from the scene of the crash, officers classified the incident as a hit and run.  Unfortunately, there were also injuries associated with this hit and run accident.  There is at least no indication that the injuries sustained were severe enough to be life-threatening.  Although there is no word on charges, it is expected that the driver who left the scene will eventually face charges related to leaving the scene of an accident.  At this time, the driver has not been apprehended by police.  The wreck investigation remains ongoing.

Accident on Pleasant StreetPolice officers in our home town of Boston were busy Sunday morning responding to numerous reports of vehicle accidents.  Some accidents were relatively minor in nature and involved only property damage but no injuries.  However, in a few cases motorists suffered injuries in multi-car accidents.

One such accident occurred at 280 Southampton Street on the city’s south side.  Police received a call around 10:45 am referencing an accident involving injury.  Officer Bienvenido Delacruz responded to the call.  Officer Delacruz quickly identified the injured victim and called for medical assistance.  The injured person was treated on scene.  There is no current word on their condition.  The accident is still under investigation by the BPD and there is no word on the cause at this time.  Identities of those involved have also been withheld.

Accident Reported on Abbotsford StreetA crash with injuries took place in Boston late on Sunday morning.  Boston Police received a call about the accident just after 11:00 am.  Officer Richard Anthony Errico with the Boston Police Department responded quickly to the scene at 108 Cushing Avenue.  Officer Errico identified the vehicles involved and began an investigation on scene.

Unfortunately, the accident did involve injuries to at least one driver.  That driver received medical treatment at the crash scene.  There was no further word on their condition at this time and no other details have been released regarding this accident since Sunday morning.  There is also no indication whether the Boston Police plan to charge anyone responsible for the accident. We hope for a speedy recovery for all involved.

Hit-and-Run Crash in Needham Involving MotorcycleA motorcycle vs. car collision took place on Monday morning in Hyannis, Massachusetts.  The crash was reported to Barnstable police at approximately 11:30 am.   Upon receiving the reports, police responded to the intersection of Falmouth Road and Strawberry Hill Road.  Once there, they discovered that a motorcycle and vehicle had collided with one another at the intersection.  The area was blocked off while officers investigated.

At least one person was injured in the collision although they have not been identified as either the motorcyclist or vehicle operator.  The injured victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.  As of this time, their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.  The accident remains under investigation by police.

Motorcycle Collisions

Accident on Route 95 at Exit 8An accident on Route 6 in the Cape Cod area made the work day a bit longer for motorists trying to get home.  The accident happened just before 6:00 pm in Barnstable, Massachusetts near exit 6.  The accident involved two vehicles. Massachusetts State Police were called to the crash scene to investigate.

The exact sequence of events in the crash is still under investigation by police at this time.  However, one of the vehicles involved in the accident was located in the woods off the highway.  The other vehicle remained on or near the roadway.   At least one person was transported to Cape Cod Hospital following the collision.  There is no word on that person’s condition or their identity at this time.   Traffic was slow and was backed up for a considerable distance approaching the scene of the accident.  Eventually, State Police were able to clear the roadway and traffic returned to normal.

Car Accidents with Injuries

download-2In shocking news out of Andover this afternoon, two people suffered serious injuries in a propane gas tank explosion.  The explosion took place around 4:00 pm at a Mobil gas station on Osgood Street.  Rescue and emergency officials quickly arrived on scene after receiving calls regarding the blast.  The injured victims sustained severe injuries and had to be airlifted to local hospitals.  There was no further update on their condition.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration currently has officials on site working to determine the cause of the blast.  The gas station will remain closed while investigators continue to work on site.  There is no word on when the store will re-open for business.  The victims of the explosion were not immediately identified.

Massachusetts Personal Injury

Another Vehicle Crash in Woolwich Causes InjuriesPolice in North Attleborough, Massachusetts responded to an injury accident  around 9:00 am on Monday morning.  The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of I-95 just before Exit 5.  Upon arrival at the scene, police found a multiple vehicle crash with injuries.  Officers then radioed for medical assistance to tend to injured victims.  EMS responded to the crash scene and rendered first aid.

Officers spent approximately an hour investigating the crash, taking witness statements and clearing the area of debris left in the roadway by the collision.  After the investigation was complete, the crash was cleared away and traffic flow resumed to normal for the morning commute, although motorists encountered heavy residual delays due to the traffic back up caused by the accident.

There is no word at this time on the condition of the injured victims or their identities.

Accident with Injury on Exit 1 on Route 95A crash with injuries was reported to police in Rockland, Massachusetts this morning.  The crash happened on Route 3, southbound at exit 14.  Rockland Police quickly arrived on scene after receiving reports of the accident.  Officers secured the accident scene.  Traffic was backed up while the investigation was ongoing and also while medical personnel at the scene tended to the injured victims.

This crash was one of several rush hour crashes that occurred on Massachusetts streets and highways Monday morning.  It does not appear at this time that any of the injuries sustained in this crash were life-threatening.  After the investigation was completed, traffic on Route 3 began moving at a normal rate.

Highway Collisions

Vehicle Accident on June StreetWorcester Police received many reports of injury accidents throughout the day on Sunday.  One such report came in around late morning.  At approximately 11:00 am police received the first of multiple disturbing calls that day regarding hit and runs in the city.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene at the 1 block of Siegel Street.  Officers investigated and discovered that the call contained accurate details regarding a hit and run.  When they arrived, officers spoke to at least one person who had been injured in an accident involving a motor vehicle.  However, they were unable to speak to anyone else associated with the crash because the driver had left the scene before police could get there.

Officers are classifying this incident as a hit and run.  Although we know there were injuries we cannot provide any additional specifics on the extent of the injuries at this time.   There is no report of the injuries being life-threatening.  Worcester police are still searching for the driver and have filed this case as incident report number 2018000065535.
