Accident on Harding StreetBoston Police were called to Hyde Park Avenue at approximately 5:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon for reports of an injury accident with more than one vehicle in the area.  Officer Stephen Crimmins of the Boston Police Department was the first to respond to the accident scene.  While there, Officer Crimmins ensured that the injured received treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.

The drivers remained on scene and cooperated with the officer’s crash investigation.  It is not clear at this time who caused the crash or what may have led up to the crash occurring.   While the accident remains under further investigation, the conclusions made by the officer have yet to become public.  There is no further information about the identity of the drivers involved in the crash.

Police Chase Ends in Crash on I-95Boston Police officer on duty Tuesday encountered a number of injury accidents across the city.  At around 2:30 pm, Officer Kato Francis of the Boston Police Department was dispatched to 20 Bradston Street in reference to a vehicle crash.  When Officer Francis arrived to Bradston Street, he encountered a multiple vehicle crash with injuries sustained.

Officer Francis then took over the scene and began an accident investigation.  At this time, the results of the investigation have not been made public.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation and there is no additional word on any injuries which were suffered in the crash other than the initial report.  Boston Police continue to look into this crash.

Traffic in the area was momentarily affected by the crash and the vehicles blocking a lane of the roadway.  Officers were able to direct traffic around the scene until they finished their investigation.

Accident with Injury on Exit 1 on Route 95Route 1 was a busy area for motorists early Wednesday morning and traffic was slowed due to reasons other than the normal morning commute.  Drivers using Route 1 experienced delays due to multiple traffic accidents before 7:00 am.  One such accident occurred at the off-ramp to Route 1 when two cars traveling in the same direction collided with one another just prior to exiting the highway.   There is no word on which exit is affected by the crash at this time.

There are injuries reported in this collision.  A combination of police and medical personnel are at the scene helping with the clean up effort.  While personnel remain on scene, traffic is moving very slowly around the crash area as motorists highway access is limited at this time.  The crash should be cleared shortly allowing traffic flow to pick back up again prior to 7:00.  Authorities have not provided any further details on the nature of injuries suffered in this crash or the identity of the individuals or vehicles involved.

Vehicle Accident with Injury on Bowdoin StreetThe Wednesday morning commute into work became a crawl for some motorists along a stretch of Route 1 in Peabody.  Those hoping for an early arrival to the office were disappointed when they encountered a crash just past exit 44 at approximately 6:00 am.  There in the breakdown lane of the highway was a crash involving multiple vehicles.  At least one person has been reported as injured in the crash but it is unknown whether the injuries are severe or life-threatening.

As of 6:30 am, police and medical personnel were both on scene of the crash and were directing motorists around the accident while they investigated and attempted to restore the traffic flow on Route 1.  Motorists who encountered the wreck were stuck in traffic for several minutes due to the heavy delays approaching the accident scene.  The crash is expected to be cleared in an hour and, barring further incident, rush hour traffic should proceed as normal following the clearing.

Police in Peabody continue to investigate and have not released any statements regarding the cause of the crash or the severity of injuries.

Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-90An early morning crash along route 3 sent at least one person to the hospital with injuries on Wednesday.  Rockland Police received a call just after 5:00 am regarding an accident with injuries in the travel lanes of the highway just past exit 14.  Police, fire and EMS responded to the scene of the crash and located the injured victim.  Medical personnel provided first aid on site and transported the individual to a local hospital for evaluation of their injuries.  The injuries are not believed to be either serious or life-threatening at this time.

Predictably, traffic was heavily impacted by the crash.  The travel lanes of the highway were blocked for some time by the car involved and later by officers investigating the crash.  Following the clean-up, residual delays continued to exist in the travel lanes.  Traffic has since been restored to normal flow as the accident is subject to further investigation.

Hit-and-Run Crash in Needham Involving MotorcycleA Tuesday night crash has left a motorcyclist in Chelmsford with very serious injuries.  Responding officers first got a call just after 7:00 about a motorcycle lying on the ground in pieces at High Street and Acton Road.   When officers got to the scene they discovered the injured motorcyclist as well as an SUV that had been involved in a collision with the motorcyclist.  The motorcyclist was suffering from very serious injuries because of the crash.  He was transported to Lowell General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.  The SUV driver was not injured and cooperated with police on scene.

The speed limit in the crash area is 25 mph, but there is no word on what caused the collision.  Police continue to investigate the crash.  The motorcyclist has not been immediately identified except as a 21 year old man from Lowell, Massachusetts.

Motorcyclist Accidents

car-300x225A wreck on Highway 128 southbound in Lynnfield, Massachusetts caused a host of problems on Tuesday afternoon.  Just after 3:00 pm, authorities with the Lynnfield Police Department received word of a collision near exit 42, just past Walnut Street.  This area is a divided highway with three travel lanes on both sides of a median.

Police report that this was a collision involving three vehicles.  Two of the vehicles were pushed next to each other in perpendicular fashion while the third vehicle was disabled in the middle lane of the roadway.  EMS personnel were on scene of the accident tending to injured victims.  At least one of the victims was transported to a hospital with injuries.

The crash caused severe traffic issues for motorists on this stretch of road.  Of the three lanes, only the far right hand lane was available for car to pass through as the other two lanes were blocked by the collision.  Police did their best to route traffic into the one available lane.  However, as expected, there were major delays around the crash at this time.   Motorists experienced residual delays as traffic slowly resumed its regular flow after the accident scene was cleared.

Accident with Minor Injuries at Zakim Bridge A midday crash on I-93 caused injuries and major traffic delays for motorists on Tuesday.  I-93 was the site of the crash on Route 128 SB at Exit 37.  The call came in to the Reading, Massachusetts Police and Fire Departments around noon.  First responders made their way out to the accident scene where they discovered a multiple car crash in the right lane of the highway.  There were also injuries reported in this collision, although it is not known at this time whether the injuries are serious or life-threatening to those involved.

Police and emergency personnel worked on the scene for a significant time tending to injured victims, clearing the scene of debris and working to resume normal traffic flow following the accident.  The right lanes of I-93 were blocked by this crash.  There were significant residual delays in traffic approaching the accident scene.  The delays persisted even after police cleared the accident scene and the involved vehicles were moved from the roadway.  There is no word on the identities of those involved, the injured victims or the cause of the crash.  The investigation remains ongoing.

800px-Pensacola_Beach_FL_SR_399_west01-300x225An early morning crash in Cape Cod sent two people to the hospital early Tuesday morning.   The crash occurred in the coastal village of Marstons Mills at Route 28 and Staysail Circle just after 6:30 am.  The Barnstable Police and Fire Departments were called to the crash scene at that time, according to Barnstable Police Sergeant Eugene Desruisseaux.

When police arrived on scene they discovered two people suffering from injuries inflicted in the accident.  According to firefighters on scene, one of the injured victims was sent to Cape Cod Hospital while the other victim was admitted to South Shore Hospital.  The second crash victim suffered injuries severe enough that they had to be admitted to a trauma center at South Shore.

This wreck remains under police investigation.  No details were offered regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of the victims.  The current condition of the injured individuals is not known at this time.

Cataldo Ambulance UpdateA crash with reported serious injuries occurred in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday morning.  The crash was initially called in to the Mansfield Fire Department at 11:23 am.  Both fire and police officials responded to the scene of the crash shortly after the dispatch call was taken.  The crash took place at the intersection of Route 106 and Copeland Drive.

The crash was so severe that the Jaws of Life had to be used to remove injured victims from their cars.  The crash involved two vehicles, though no details were provided on how it occurred.  One of the injured victims was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital while the other was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.  Although the injuries are described a serious, police do not believe they are life-threatening.  The road remained for about 30 minutes while police investigated.  Shortly after noon, it was re-opened for motorists.  The crash remains under investigation.
