Two-Vehicle Accident Leads to Death of Robert LindShirley, MA (June 29, 2018) – One person was killed following a head-on collision in Shirley, Massachusetts Thursday night.  Local police responded to 134 Great Falls Road in reference to an accident with serious injuries around 11:00 pm.  Both cars involved in the crash were found to have heavy front-end damage.  Shirley police on scene noted it was “immediately apparent” that the accident was serious.

The injured driver was transported by paramedics to a local hospital.  Unfortunately, the driver later succumbed to their injuries.  Police arrested the second driver on scene although it is not known what charges that driver faces at this time.  Shirley police continue to investigate the accident.  The deceased individual was not immediately identified in the aftermath of the crash.

Accident on Blue Hill AvenueWorcester, MA (June 29, 2018) – Worcester police were called to an injury accident in the 1 block of Kendall Street at rush hour on Thursday afternoon. Police received a call at 5:00 pm regarding an accident with injuries that had just occurred at this location.  In response to the call, Worcester police, fire and ambulance officials were all dispatched to the accident scene.  Once there, police blocked off the area while fire and EMS workers aided the injured.

This crash involved multiple vehicles and there were injuries, although the extent of injuries remains unknown at this time.  Police have not said what caused the accident or provided any information on whether they expect to issue traffic citations for any legal violations that may have taken place leading up to the crash.  The identities of the drivers are not known at this time.

Tractor Trailer Accident on Quincy StreetI 84 State Line (June 29, 2018) – Massachusetts State Police responded to an early morning tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 84 near the Connecticut Line on Friday morning.  The call came in to police headquarters shortly after 2:00 am.  The caller advised State Police that the accident had just occurred in the eastbound lanes of the highway and that a tractor trailer had rolled over onto its side.

Troopers went to the scene in response to the call and discovered a truck lying on its drivers side in the roadway.  The truck driver was able to extricate himself from the wreckage prior to police arrival.  The driver sustained injuries in the rollover, however, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.  The truck had to be lifted upright and removed from the roadway.  Although the accident occurred at an off hour for traffic, there were some delays in the area while police and other workers cleared the accident and re-opened all lanes of the highway.  There are no further details immediately available.

Mattapoisett Police Responder to Three-Vehicle CrashBoston, MA (June 29, 2018) – One person was hurt in a collision in Boston early Thursday morning.  The accident happened around 1:45 am within the city limits.   Boston police officer Robert Fields was dispatched to the scene after receiving a call for an accident with injuries. Officer Fields also called for medical personnel to report to the accident and assist the injured victim.

Police and rescue workers both arrived on scene and immediately went to work.  Officer Fields secured the area and spoke to those involved while medical workers tended to the injured victims.  The crash was quickly cleared away and traffic was allowed to pass through the area shortly after officers arrived on scene.  There is no word at this time on the condition of the injured or identities of the drivers involved.  The crash remains under investigation with Officer Fields.

images-1-6-300x158Boston, MA (June 28, 2018) – Boston police were busy responding to several injury accidents across the city on Thursday.  One such accident took place on Neponset Avenue.  Just after midnight, police received reports of an accident involving injuries at 109 Neponset.   The accident involved multiple cars, although the cause of the crash is still unknown as police have not released any additional details.

The condition of the injured victims is also unknown at this time.  The Boston police are still investigating the crash and any additional details, including the identity of the drivers and any charges from the accident, will be released as soon as they are made available.

images-1-7Boston, MA (June 28, 2018) – Multiple accidents with injuries were reported across Boston on Thursday.  Some of the accidents involved bicyclists and pedestrians while some involved two or more vehicles colliding with each other.  A multiple vehicle accident took place at 9:40 pm on American Legion Highway.  Officers with the Boston police department were called to the scene shortly thereafter.  Officers quickly discovered that at least one person was injured in the accident.  Medical care was required and administered on scene.

Pedestrian Accident Reported on Marcella StreetBoston, MA (June 28, 2018) – A pedestrian walking along Shawmut Avenue was struck by a vehicle on Thursday evening.  The vehicle hit the pedestrian just before 9:00 pm.  The accident resulted in both Boston police as well as medical workers responding to the scene.  Once officers arrived they were able to locate both the car and pedestrian involved.  Officers obtained statements from each of them regarding the accident and how it occurred.

The pedestrian received medical treatment for the injuries sustained from being struck.  There is no indication that the injuries are life-threatening.  It is unknown at this what led up to the accident.  Police are expected to investigate a variety of factors, including whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk or other marked area, whether the driver was speeding or distracted and whether the pedestrian or driver could have taken steps to avoid the crash.  All of these factors will help police to determine responsibility for the accident.

Brockton two car utility pole crashBoston, MA (June 28, 2018) – The Boston Police Department and rescue workers responded to an accident with injuries that took place in the city on Thursday evening.  The accident happened just before 7:00 pm when two cars collided in the 1100 block of Massachusetts Avenue.  Officer Fred Ferrara of the BPD was among the group of first responders to come to the crash location.  Officer Ferrara secured the scene while he worked to investigate the cause of the crash.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that at least one person suffered injuries requiring medical treatment.  Treatment was given on scene and the injuries are not life-threatening.  Police are still investigating the crash and have given no further information on the cause or identities of those involved.  There were some traffic delays while police worked to clear away the wreckage and re-open the road for traffic.

983414_bicycle_path-224x300Boston, MA (June 29, 2018) – A bicyclist in Boston was struck by a car and injured on Thursday.  The bicyclist was hit on 51 Lincoln Street just past 12:00 pm.  Boston police officers received the call and responded to the scene.  Officer Michael Rideout was one of the first officers to respond.  Officer Rideout took the lead and investigated the accident.

The bicyclist’s injuries were not life-threatening but did require medical treatment.  Police offered no update on the condition of the bicyclist.  All involved in this accident remained on scene to cooperate with the police investigation into the crash.  Neither the driver nor the bicyclist were identified and there is no immediate indication as to whether police intend to issue citations associated with the incident.

915719_construction_workers_on_a_roof-300x213Rowley, MA (June 29, 2018) – A tree worker in Rowley, Massachusetts is dead after falling nearly 50 feet to the ground on Thursday.  David Bova, 34, was working for Mayer Tree Service at a home on Main Street around 8:00 am when the fall occurred.  Bova was attempting to remove a tree branch but lost his balance and plunged to his death.  Emergency workers rushed Bova to Anna Jacques Hospital but he was pronounced dead.

The Massachusetts State Police along with Essex County District Attorney’s office are investigating the fall.  However, at this time, they believe it was merely accidental and that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Bova’s death.
