https://www.bostonpersonalinjuryattorneyblog.com/files/2018/06/2000px-Injured.svg_-300x300.pngOrleans, MA (July 6, 2018) – Injuries were reported in a rear-end collision in Orleans, Massachusetts on Thursday.  Around 4:00 pm, three vehicles, including a box truck, were involved in the rear-end crash on Route 6 near exit 12.  The Orleans Fire Department and Eastham Fire Department, along with police officers and an ambulance responded to the crash.

Two people were transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital while a third person refused treatment for their injuries.  The extent and severity of injuries are unknown at this time.  Orleans police are still investigating the crash and have not stated which vehicle started the chain of events in the rear-end crash.  No charges were immediately issued on Thursday.  Traffic in the area was clogged as the westbound lanes of Route 6 were closed while police were on scene.

triple car accident hit and run BrocktonBarnstable, MA (July 6, 2018) – Police responded to a crash with injuries in Barnstable, Massachusetts on Thursday evening.   A call came in around 10:30 regarding an accident with injuries on Route 132, near Shootflying Hill Road.  Multiple vehicles were involved in this crash.  Police have not released any cause for the collision nor have they identified the vehicles or drivers that were involved.

Multiple ambulances from both West Barnstable and Hyannis were on scene shortly after 10:30.  The injured were transported to a local hospital.  None of the injuries are being reported by authorities as life threatening.  Barnstable police have taken over the crash investigation and are looking into a number of factors concerning the cause of the crash.  No other details were immediately available.

Mattapoisett Police Responder to Three-Vehicle CrashHatfield, MA (July 6, 2018) – A trooper with the Massachusetts State Police is in the hospital Friday morning following an overnight crash on Interstate 91.  The crash occurred sometime before 5:00 am.  The trooper was driving a state police patrol car on 91 when his vehicle ran off the road and into some trees.  The vehicle was so far into the tree line that it was partially obscured from the road.

An ambulance responded to the scene and the trooper was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital with serious injuries of an unknown nature.  He is expected to recover from the injuries.  I-91 was closed temporarily near exit 21 while police investigated the accident, but has since re-opened.  This crash remains under further police investigation to determine a cause.

Two-Vehicle Accident Leads to Death of Robert LindWorcester, MA (July 6, 2018) – An elderly couple was tragically killed in a crash on Wednesday, July 4th.  We first brought you this story yesterday when we reported on a collision which happened in Worcester after a car traveling on the wrong side of the road struck a boulder.  The occupants of the vehicle, an 87 year old man and an 82 year old woman were killed in the crash.

Now, police have identified the crash victims.  The 87 year old man is identified as Walter Barringer and the 82 year old woman is identified as Joan Barringer, both of Worcester.  Neighbors who witnessed the crash rushed to the couple’s aid and attempted to get them out of the vehicle by smashing a window.  Others sprayed the car down as it caught fire following the crash.   Ultimately, the Barringers were pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in the crash.  Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.

Pedestrian Accident with Injuries on Morton and Fuller StreetsPelham, MA –  Police in Pelham responded to a second pedestrian crash within a few hours on Thursday morning.   The first incident, which we previously reported on, involved a 71 year old woman.  In this incident, a 62 year old woman was hurt.

At around 8:00 am on Thursday, the woman was driving along Bridge Street when her car swerved off the road and into a tree.  The woman was out of her vehicle when another vehicle driven by a 31 year old man was passing through the area.  The man told police that he was temporarily blinded by sunlight.  Once he regained his vision, he realized that he was about to hit the woman, who was walking in the roadway.   Although he swerved to avoid a collision, he struck the woman, knocking her to the ground.

The driver immediately left his vehicle to check on the woman.  Police and rescue units responded while he remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.  The woman was transported to a local hospital with a leg injury, but her injuries do not appear life-threatening at this time.  Police are still investigating the crash but have ruled out speed and alcohol as factors.  No word on whether any charges are expected.

Pedestrian Struck in DorchesterPelham, MA (July 6, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck by a car in Pelham, Massachusetts Thursday.  The collision happened during the morning hours.  Police have released few details about the accident and have not said where it occurred.  We do know that a 71 year old woman was walking along the side of the road when a car hit her.  She suffered injuries to her leg as a result of the impact.

The woman was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated and she is expected to make a full recovery.  No charges has been issued against the driver at this time but police say that they are still investigating the crash and that charges may come at a later date.

download-4-2Boston, MA (July 5, 2018) – A rush hour crash on I-93 left travelers stuck in traffic and injured one person on Thursday morning.  The crash occurred around 9:00 am in the northbound lanes of the highway, near exit 14.  One person was injured as a result of the crash.  Ambulance and fire officials responded to the accident, along with local police.  The extent and severity of injuries is not known at this time.

Heavy traffic delays were reported approaching the accident scene.  Police worked to clear the collision for approximately an hour.  During that time, traffic flow was impeded in the affected lanes.  Eventually, the lanes were re-opened and traffic returned to normal.  No additional information was immediately available.

images-1-7Wareham, MA (July 5, 2018) – Wareham police were busy responding to crashes across the area on Thursday.  In total, police responded to four crashes within an hour. One accident occurred in the 3000 block of Cranberry Highway just after 9:30 am.  Two vehicles were involved in this crash.  One person suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

It is not known how the crash occurred, however Wareham police cited one driver with operating a vehicle on a suspended license.  Police are still investigating the crash and there is no additional information available at this time.

bicyclecrossingsign-300x225Quincy, MA (July 5, 2018) – A bicyclist in Quincy, Massachusetts suffered serious injuries after being struck by a hit and run driver on July 4th.  The collision occurred on Whitwell and Deldorf Streets around 8:20 pm Wednesday.  The bicyclist is identified by police as a 61 year old man.  He was struck by a vehicle operated by 39 year old Paul Mignosa of Quincy.

Mignosa fled the scene after the collision but was located by police a short distance away.  He was charged with hit and run, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI causing serious injury.  Mignosa was arrested and taken into police custody.

The 61 year old bicyclist, whose name was not released, was transported to a hospital with serious head and leg injuries according to Quincy police.  No further word on the man’s condition is available as of Thursday evening.

download-3-4Wareham, MA (July 5, 2018) – A Thursday morning rollover crash left three men in Wareham, Massachusetts seriously injured.  The crash happened at approximately 9:38 am in the southbound lanes of Interstate 495.  The men, who were all traveling in a pickup truck, were transported to nearby hospitals.  One of the men has sustained life-threatening injuries while the other two sustained serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The truck ended up off the side of the roadway and eventually struck a tree before coming to rest. It then caught fire with the men still inside.  The Jaws of Life were used to eventually extricate all three men from the truck.  The Wareham Police, Middleboro Police and Massachusetts State Police all responded to the crash and assisted with the subsequent investigation.  Traffic was snarled around the accident scene for a substantial time as police investigated the crash.
