Yesterday, Friday, April 20, law enforcement officers reported to the area of Highland Avenue and Freeman Road, at approximately 10:35 a.m., in SalemSalem Car Accident Caused by Falling Debris from Truck

The cause for the dispatch was a report of accidental vehicle damage. A female was driving southbound on Highland Avenue when a piece of plywood flew off of the back of a truck driving in front of her. The plywood hit her 2011 Toyota on the driver’s side of the bumper and puncturing her left-rear tire.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and provided information. The plywood was removed from the road.

Police gave him a citation for the unsecured plywood. The 2011 Toyota was removed from the scene by a tow truck.

Thirty-one-year-old Katherine Ibanez was driving her car in Attleboro earlier this month, when she suddenly jerked her car to avoid hitting another car.

“My car just spun all the way around. And then when I looked down, I had a pole stuck right here, [chest]”

The foot-long pole crashed through her windshield and into her arm, chest and back. Her lung was punctured in the collision. The pole caused extensive damage throughout her body, but sparing her main artery.

Ibanez was admitted for nine days in the hospital and her medical procedures are not over. She has already had numerous blood transfusions and surgeries, with more to come.

Today the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has released more information on the woman who died several hours after the Thursday morning Brockton Gas Depot car crash. Terri Degennaro of Brockton Identified as Woman Who Died Hours After Gas Depot Crash (Update)

She has been identified as Terri Degennaro, a 54-year-old resident of Brockton. After the accident she declined medical treatment at the scene, and declined transport to a hospital. She was assessed at the scene by first responders, however later in the day she did arrive at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital seeking help with injuries. She was ultimately transported to Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She ultimately died there.

On the Thursday morning Degennaro was driving east on Perkins Street at almost 10:30 a.m., and it was at that time that the black GMC Yukon crashed into her vehicle. The accident occurred at the intersection on Main Street. The Yukon continued to barrel down the road, into the Gas Depot and onto another vehicle, before coming to rest.

An inquiry continued into the two-car head-on crash in Wilmington, Massachusetts, which caused injuries to both motorists.Head-On Collision in Wilmington Under Investigation

Reports from law enforcement indicate that the accident happened at Hopkins Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

There were no other occupants in the vehicles.

One driver was a man who suffered serious injuries, and the other driver was a woman whose injuries were not as severe. Both were transported to the hospital.

The cause behind the incident is unknown at this time.

Law enforcement officers report today, that a man in his 30s was transported to a hospital after suffering harm in a car accident in Attleboro.Driver Loses Control of Vehicle in Attleboro, Sustains Injuries

The accident occurred when he lost control of the Jeep on Highland Avenue at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Friday.

The vehicle also suffered injury.

The accident is being investigated by police.

There is no further information on whether another vehicle was involved.

A couple of individuals were severely injured when they crashed head-on into each other. The accident happened near Hopkins and Dorcester Streets tonight.Billerica Head-On Collision Injuries

One of them was not conscious and the other was trapped in the vehicle. Numerous emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the intersection.

The incident took place at almost 7 p.m. on the border of Billerica.

Hopkins Street was reopened to vehicles at 8 p.m..

Billerica streets that were affected include Alexander Road at Cook Street which was shut down.

Thirty  year old Peter J. Rizzo was in Worcester Superior Court today facing charges of leaving an accident scene where there was property damage. Worcester Accident Personal Injury

He was also charged with wrong way driving. The judge allowed him to complete the Brain at Risk Program, which must be completed within the year.

However, Mr. Rizzo must still pay restitution to the injured victim in the amount of $2,300 plus court fees.

Nearly 24 hours after a multi-vehicle crash at the Gas Depot in Brockton, a female victim of the crash was declared dead today.Brockton Gas Station Multi-Vehicle Accident Fatality

Reports from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office indicate that victim as in her 50s and had refused treatment at the scene of the accident on Thursday. The female eventually arrive at the Brockton Hospital where she was then transferred to Beth Israel Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

On Thursday, around 10 a.m., law enforcement were dispatched to the gas station at Main Street and Perkins Street. There, they discovered that a GMC Yukon collided into the female victim’s vehicle, before crashing into the gas station – slamming into a pole in the process. The GMC Yukon was stopped by another vehicle at the gas station.

The identities of the people involved have not been released.

On Thursday afternoon Boston firefighters were dispatched to a home for something other than a fire. Boston Firefighter Rescue

They were able to save a female resident after she was trapped underneath a grate in the rear of the house.

According to reports, she was attempting to keep warm.

Firefighters in Springfield squelched a truck blaze on Switzer Avenue this afternoon. The fire disintegrated the truck engine, the trailer and two vehicles that strapped on the trailer, according to a fire official. Springfield Vehicle Fire Accident

Dennis Leger, assistant of Fire Commissioner Bernard J. Calvi reported that the incident happened prior to 3 p.m. on 170 Switzer Street.

Firefighters came on scene to find the trailer already on fire.

Arson and Bomb Squads are figuring out the cause of the fire.
