Worcester, MA – Injury Accident in 500 Block of Grafton Street

Worcester, MA (July 3, 2018) – Grafton Street in Worcester was the site of yet another injury accident on Monday afternoon. This time, police were called to the 500 block of Grafton at 3:00 pm in reference to an accident with injuries.

At least one person suffered injuries in this crash. The injured person was treated by medical workers on scene. There is no immediate word on their condition at this time. The injuries sustained are not believed to be life-threatening in nature. Traffic on Grafton was delayed for some time as police investigated the crash.

Officers are working to determine what caused the accident. They are analyzing evidence from the scene, including witness statements and photographs. An official cause of the crash has not been released at this time, pending the results of the police investigation. No other details about this accident were made available by police.

Worcester, MA (July 3, 2018) – A crash causing injuries was reported to Worcester police on Monday afternoon. The accident in question took place in the 1 block of Vale Street, according to initial reports filed by the Worcester Police Department. The accident happened around 1:00 pm. Initial reports also note that there were injuries sustained by the individuals involved in the crash. Based on current available information, the extent of the injuries and whether they are considered life-threatening is not known at this time.

Worcester Police are still investigating this accident and have yet to release an official cause of the crash. Worcester, MA – Accident on Gates Lane Causes Injuries

Worcester, MA (July 3, 2018) – Police in Worcester responded to a handful of personal injury car accidents across the city on Tuesday. One of these accidents took place in the 1 block of Vale Street. This call came in to police dispatchers around 2:00 pm Tuesday afternoon regarding a multiple vehicle crash with injuries to the affected drivers.

Patrol officers responded to the scene amid reports of the accident. At least one person did sustain injuries in the crash, as confirmed by police reports. The extent of injuries as well as the condition of the injured victims is not known at the time of this report. This accident is still under investigation by the Worcester police and no official cause of the crash has been released at this time.

July 4th Safe Driving Tips

The July 4th holiday is a great time to celebrate our country’s independence with friends and family. From backyard barbecues to family gatherings, pool parties and fireworks, there is lots to do on this day. However, as with any holiday the roadways will be more congested than usual with holiday travelers and driver safety should be top priority for motorists this week.

Sobering Statistics

Based on a study conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the deadliest day for traffic crashes throughout the year is actually July 4th. Over a four year period spanning from 2010 until 2014, the Institute found that an average of 118.4 motor vehicle deaths occur on July 4 every year. The national average day during that same time period was about 90 fatalities on our nation’s roadways.

Shelburne, MA – Route 2 Driver Killed in Collision Identified

Shelburne, MA (July 3, 2018) – Yesterday we reported on a serious head on collision which occurred on Route 2 in Shelburne, Massachusetts. In that crash, one driver was rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment. Unfortunately, we have now learned that the driver has passed away from their injuries.

Police in Shelburne have identified the driver as 58 year old Thomas Gadmoski. Gadomski’s residence is not known at this time. Gadomski and another vehicle were traveling on Route 2 Sunday morning when they collided leaving both drivers with serious injuries. The other driver remains hospitalized at Bay State Medical Center in serious condition. Route 2 was closed for over 5 hours Sunday while police investigated and cleared the wreckage.

The accident investigation is still ongoing. Officers with the Shelburne police as well as the Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Team are continuing to put together a cause for the crash. It is not known whether charges will be filed for the crash.

Harwich Port, MA – Bicyclist Injured in Collision with Vehicle

Harwich Port, MA (July 3, 2018) – A bicyclist in Harwich Port, Massachusetts was struck by a car on Monday while riding along Route 28 and Sisson Road. The collision occurred around 5:00 pm. Harwich police report that the woman is from Russia and is in town working on the Cape for the summer season. Police did not release the woman’s name or the name of the driver involved in the crash.

Paramedics arrived on scene. The woman, who was visibly shaken from the crash, was treated and later transported to Cape Cod Hospital for additional evaluation. Her condition is not known at this time. Police have not said how the accident occurred or whether they intend to charge the driver for the crash. The crash investigation is still ongoing at the Harwich Police Department.

Worcester, MA – Injuries Reported in Hammond Street Accident

Worcester, MA (July 2, 2018) – Injuries were reported in a Sunday afternoon that occurred on Hammond Street in Worcester. The accident call came in to police around 3:00 pm regarding an accident with injuries in the 1 block of Hammond Street. Police responded to the call and found at least one person suffering from injuries sustained in the collision. Additional units, including medical workers, also responded to the scene. The injured victim was treated for their injuries on scene.

The severity of injuries are unknown at this time but there is no indication that they are life-threatening. Police are still investigating this crash and have not released any additional details.

Fitchburg, MA – Woman Charged With OUI After Striking Girl

Fitchburg, MA (July 2, 2018) – A woman has been charged with OUI after striking a 5 year old girl Sunday night in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. A large number of children were playing in an area on Redman Street when a 2000 Ford Explorer came through the area at a high rate of speed. The Explorer struck the 5 year old girl, who was injured in the crash. The girl was transported to UMass Hospital for her injuries. The injuries are not life-threatening and it is believed at this time that the girl will make a full recovery from the crash.

The driver, identified as 55 year old Lori A. Bancroft of Pepperell is facing an OUI charge stemming from the crash. Police say Bancroft was wearing two fentanyl patches at the time of the collision. A third patch was found inside her vehicle. Officers describe her as unsteady on her feet and drifting in and out of consciousness. She was taken to jail and later released on a $500 cash bail.
