Yesterday, Friday, April 20, law enforcement officers reported to the area of Highland Avenue and Freeman Road, at approximately 10:35 a.m., in SalemSalem Car Accident Caused by Falling Debris from Truck

The cause for the dispatch was a report of accidental vehicle damage. A female was driving southbound on Highland Avenue when a piece of plywood flew off of the back of a truck driving in front of her. The plywood hit her 2011 Toyota on the driver’s side of the bumper and puncturing her left-rear tire.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and provided information. The plywood was removed from the road.

Police gave him a citation for the unsecured plywood. The 2011 Toyota was removed from the scene by a tow truck.

A terrifying car collision at a gas station in Brockton put one individual in the hospital with injuries.  Brockton Cash Station Collision

The cameras inside the Gas Depot station recorded the full accident. In the video, a dark car is seen entering  the station when a black Sport Utility Vehicles speeds in, rams into a couple of gas pumps and stops on the top of the dark car.

The accident, occurred at approximately 10 a.m. today and did not result in more casualties.

Brockton Fire officials who arrived on scene report that a third vehicle was also smashed into on Main Street in connection to this accident. Only the three individuals were involved.

Fortunately, not one of the gas tanks ignited and no one was run over. Law enforcement will begin an inquiry into the reason for the accident.

Enfield Police announced on Sunday that the I-91 ramp off the Massachusetts border will reopen Monday, April 16th. The ramp will reopen after being closed for nearly a week due to a rollover crash of a tractor-trailer causing an enormous oil spill on the highway. The driver of the tanker was identified as 32-year-old Jonathan Andrew Edwards. Reports indicate that he did not clear the turn on the ramp which caused the rollover. The tank appears to have i-95 tanker truck crashlanded on the right shoulder. Mr. Edwards is a resident of West Springfield. He sustained injuries as a result of the rollover and was transported to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

One exit, number 49, was already reopened as of late afternoon Sunday. The rest of the highway needed massive cleanup because the tanker spilled out the entirety of its front compartment and part of a second compartment, both of which carried gasoline. Nearly 3,000 gallons were cleaned up from the highway.

Three families with homes on Kalish Avenue had to leave their homes temporarily due to the gasoline spread. There were nearly six drinking wells in the area that were affected and the water was tested by the state to determine that they were not contaminated.

The Worcester Police Department has revealed the tow truck workers involved in Friday afternoon’s accident Worcester tow truck head injury updateare Pipo’s Tow Company proprietor, a man in his thirties, and his nearly sixty year old employee. They each call Worcester home.

The Department has provided further information on the injuries. The Pipo’s Tow Company employee suffers from broken ribs and maybe a broken area of the shoulder. The young owner of the company suffers from head and torso injuries.

Reports now indicate that first responders discovered one man on the pavement with noticeable and severe head injuries causing blood flow. It is confirmed that the Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is now handling the case.

Earlier this afternoon, as two flatbed truck workers were loading a Honda Accord onto the tow truck, the truck began to roll and ran over one of the workers. He was taken away in an ambulance. The Pipo’s Towing truck ended up descending approximately 250 feet down hill. This occurred on Haviland Street in Worcester at around 1:30 p.m. There were several witnesses to the incident including the three women getting the Honda Accord towed.Tow Truck Rolls Over Worcester Worker

The other Pipo’s Towing worker was also injured when, after attempting to jump into the tow truck to stop it from continuing to roll down hill further, he fell out of the truck onto the pavement. There were no further injuries when the truck came to rest against a tree that stopped it. The accident investigation team of the Worcester Police are investigating mechanical failure as a possible cause, among other factors.
