Hit-and-Run Accident at 12 Hampshire

On May 23, the Quincy Police Department received a call about a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles. The accident occurred near 12 Hampshire Road and emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after receiving the information. Upon arrival, officers spoke with 69-year-old Jane Bradley who was driving a Red Pontiac G6 when she was hit by another vehicle.

Emergency responders assessed the situation and minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident. Police are still looking for the other driver involved in the incident.

Upon arrival, first responders examined those involved for injuries and initially reported the injuries to be non-life-threatening. An investigation is ongoing into the nature and cause of the accident, and normal traffic resumed later into the afternoon.

SUV Crashes Through Guardrail on I-95

Before coming to a stop at the pole, the SUV also struck another vehicle.

The driver of the SUV was transported to Norwood Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

First responders were first notified of an accident near Exit 24 at 2:57 p.m. The emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after. This crash is still under investigation by emergency personnel. No deaths were reported and the extent of the injuries is under review.

One Injured in Crash on Interstate 495

On May 23, an accident near Exit 40 on Interstate-495 injured two and resulted in a fire that engulfed one vehicle and upended another. Emergency responders received notification of an accident along the interstate and proceeded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a pickup truck and Hyundai hatchback that appeared to have collided.

Through the course of the accident, the pickup truck rolled over onto its hood, severely damaging it as it came to a stop in the left lane. The hatchback remained upright but caught fire as a result of the crash. Andover Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and proceeded to extinguish the engulfed vehicle.

On May 22, a VHS van carrying one student was rear-ended by a Ford E-series van. The accident occurred near Pearl Street and Torrey Street, and emergency responders were called to the scene shortly afterwards. Reacting to the call of a crash involving a transportation van, police and firefighters arrived at the scene around 7 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered that the Ford had collided into the back of the van and causes substantial damage to the rear. The lone passenger in the VHS van was an Easton school student, and they suffered minor injuries in the accident. Statements were taken by police, and the roads were cleared and open to regular traffic shortly afterwards.

Update: Pedestrian Identified in West Bridgewater Accident

A pedestrian was severely injured on Sunday night after being hit by a car and has recently been identified. 28-year-old Vasiliki Vasvatekis is a Bridgewater resident who was struck by a vehicle while walking outside. According to initial reports, Vasvatekis was struck by a 42-year-old man as he drove his vehicle. West Bridgewater Police responded to the incident around 9 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Vasvatekis had serious head and leg injuries. She was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for initial treatment. She was later transported via medical helicopter to Boston Medical Center to receive further treatment for her injuries.
