Upon arrival, they found that a 1997 Ford Thunderbird being driven by Laura Gurley caused the accident as she attempted to make a left turn into a local bank parking lot and missed the entrance. The driver of the other vehicle was injured in the collision, but the extent of their injuries is still under review. The scene was cleared within the hour.

In Westminster, the man killed in a fiery crash on Route 2 has been identified by state police as a 48-year-old man from Lunenburg. Duane Vachon passed away after the accident that involved his 2007 GMC Yukon and one other vehicle occurred causing his vehicle to strike a rock and burst into flames. Mr. Vachon was pronounced dead at the scene. His daughter is raising funds online to pay for his funeral expenses.

One Seriously Injured in House Fire on Oberlin Street

The call came in around 7:30 p.m. with a report of a fire in the building at 15 Oberlin Street and residents were reported to be still inside. The first arriving firefighters from the Park Avenue station saw heavy flames on the second floor.

Firefighters rescued one victim who had sustained serious injuries. The victim was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center. After about 40 minutes, the fire was extinguished by crews. The Fire Investigation Unit was called to investigate. The building is a multi-unit home owned by BCR Properties.
