Sharon, MA – Metal Worker Trapped in Machine, Rushed to Hospital

Sharon, MA (July 12, 2018) – A metal worker in Sharon, Massachusetts was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after becoming trapped in a machine on Thursday morning. Rescue crews rushed to the scene at Industrial Metal Products minutes after receiving the initial call for assistance. There, they located the man trapped inside a machine that is used to load metal sheets. It is unclear how the man became trapped in the machine.

Workers used airbags to eventually free the man from the machine. Chest compressions were performed on site and the man was immediately transported by medical helicopter to a hospital in Norwood. He was conscious upon being loaded into the helicopter.

There is no word on the man’s condition at this time. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident and no further details have been released.

Huntington, MA – Woman Identified in Fatal Route 112 Crash

Huntington, MA (July 12, 2018) – Earlier today, we reported on a collision involving a pickup truck on Route 112 in Huntington. The truck ran off the roadway and and crashed into trees. The male driver and female passenger were rushed to a hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, we have now learned that the female passenger has passed away from injuries suffered in the crash.

Massachusetts State Police have identified the woman as 39 year old Melinda Carriveau of Montgomery. Carriveau suffered the fatal injuries when she was ejected from the truck after the crash. The driver remains hospitalized at Bay State Medical Center in serious condition.

Authorities are still investigating the crash and have not released a cause as of Thursday morning.

Boston, MA – Injury Accident Reported on McClellan Highway

Boston, MA (July 12, 2018) – Boston police responded to an injury accident on the William F. McClellan Highway on Wednesday. Just after 8:30 am, police received reports of an accident involving injuries at this location. The accident involved multiple cars, although the cause of the crash is still unknown as police have not released any additional details. Officer Kevin Golden of the Boston Police Department investigated the crash.

The condition of the injured victims is also unknown at this time. The Boston police are still investigating the crash and any additional details, including the identity of the drivers and any charges from the accident, will be released as soon as they are made available.

Harwich Port, MA – Pedestrian Struck While Crossing Ayer Road

Harwich Port, MA (July 12, 2018) – A pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday in Harwich Port.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was crossing Ayer Road near Route 28 around 5:00 pm. At that time, a white minivan crossed in front of the victim, striking her and knocking her onto the ground. The Harwich Fire Department, along with Harwich Police responded to the scene to assist the injured woman. The woman suffered a non-life threatening injury in the collision. She was sent to Cape Cod Hospital where she is expected to make a full recovery.

Harwich Police took statements from both the injured pedestrian as well as the driver of the minivan. The accident remains under investigation and no charges had been reported as of Thursday morning.

Salem, MA – Boy Injured After Being Struck on Crosswalk

Salem, MA (July 12, 2018) – A boy crossing the street on his bicycle was struck by a vehicle in Salem on Wednesday. The collision occurred just before 5:30 pm on Lafayette and Laurel Streets. The boy, identified only as a 14 year old, was riding his bicycle in a crosswalk at the intersection. He was about three quarters of the way through the intersection when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Police and an ambulance unit responded to the crash scene to render first aid to the boy. He suffered what is being described as a non-critical leg injury and was transported to North Shore Children’s Hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle did remain on scene to speak with police. Officers have charged the driver with failing to yield for a pedestrian.

Salem, MA – Accident on Loring Avenue Leads to Injuries

Salem, MA (July 12, 2018) – A driver in Salem, Massachusetts sustained injuries in a crash Wednesday. The crash occurred at 7:00 am in the 1000 block of Loring Street. Police say two vehicles collided with one another for unknown reasons. The force of the collision caused the airbags in one of the vehicles to be deployed.

Police discovered that one driver was injured in the crash and requested that an ambulance also respond to the crash. The injured victim accepted medical treatment. It is not known at this time whether the victim was also transported to the hospital for additional attention. This accident remains under investigation with no cause immediately given by Salem police.

Mansfield, MA – Rollover Crash Leads to Injuries

Mansfield, MA (July 12, 2018) – A rollover crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Mansfield. The crash, which occurred just after 5:00 pm, took place on Interstate 495, near the interchange with highway 95. The crash, involving two vehicles, left one vehicle rolled onto its side as a result of the impact. Police and rescue workers responded to the scene to discover at least one person suffering from injuries caused by the crash. The victims were transported to the hospital but there is no word at this time on their condition.

Traffic in the northbound lanes was at a standstill while police and others worked to investigate the crash and clear away the accident scene. The accident is the subject of an ongoing investigation and no conclusion has been reached regarding the cause of the crash. Police have not identified either of the drivers involved at this time.

Worcester, MA – Crash with Injuries Reported on 290

Worcester, MA (July 12, 2018) – A crash with injuries is slowing the Thursday morning commute in Worcester. Just after 6:30 am a crash was reported in the eastbound travel lanes of Interstate 290, near exit 21 at Plantation Street. Two vehicles collided with one another at this location. Authorities, including police, fire and ambulance officials are on the scene of the accident. There are injuries reported from this crash, though there is no word on the severity of injuries or whether anyone has been taken to the hospital.

Heavy delays are being experienced as driver approach the accident scene. Police have asked motorists to avoid the area for at least an hour while the wreckage is cleared and the roadway is re-opened for traffic. An active investigation is ongoing into this crash. Sutton, MA – Wrong Way Driver Causes Crash with Injuries

Sutton, MA (July 12, 2018) – A wrong way driver in Sutton, Massachusetts caused a crash with injuries on Wednesday afternoon. The crash was reported to authorities in Sutton around 2:15 pm. The car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 146 at the time of the crash. While traveling southbound, the car collided with another car coming northbound in the same lane, according to reports from the Massachusetts State Police. The crash occurred near Colonial Road.

There were injuries sustained in this crash, although they are fortunately not considered life-threatening. Both northbound lanes of Route 146 were closed shortly after the crash while police investigated. They re-opened after 3:00 pm.

State Police are investigating the crash and what may have caused the driver to travel the wrong way down Route 146. There is no word on any charges at this time.

Huntington, MA- Two Hurt After Crash on Route 112

Huntington, MA (July 12, 2018) – A serious crash on Route 112 in Huntington left two people injured Wednesday evening. Just before 8:00 pm, a pickup truck was traveling on 112, near mile marker 6 when the driver lost control. The car left the roadway, went through a guardrail, and crashed into a set of trees. Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash.

State Police Sgt. Paul Sullivan said that the driver was pinned in the vehicle and that his passenger, a woman, also suffered injuries in the crash. Both the male driver and female passenger were extricated from the truck and rushed to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. There is no word on the extent or severity of their injuries at this time.

The Massachusetts State Police are working with an accident reconstruction team in order to determine what may have caused the crash. There is no further information available at this time.
