I-290 Crashes Causes Injuries, Traffic Headaches

An early morning crash on I-290 spelled disaster for commuters this morning. The accident also resulted in injuries to those involved. The early morning accident happened just before 6:00 am on I-290 at exit 11, College Street in Worcester. Police were called to the scene of a multiple vehicle accident involving injury at that time. When they arrived, officers blocked off the accident scene and re-routed traffic around the crash so that they could investigate. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the crash involved injuries. EMS responded to the scene to treat the injured victims.

Heavy delays were reported on the highway around the time of the crash. At least one lane of the road was closed while police worked to investigate the collision and its cause. The injured received treatment but there is no word on their conditions or the cause of the crash as of this time. Further information will be made available as we receive it.

Rush Hour Crash Causes Injuries, Delays Traffic

A rush hour crash in Leominster this morning caused injuries and snarled traffic for motorists traveling on Route 2 eastbound. The crash happened an Exit 32 and involved more than one vehicle. Authorities responded after receiving a call for assistance. After responding, they located the injured victims. Medical care was administered on scene.

The crash caused major delay for motorists on their morning commute. Traffic was backed up leading into the crash for several minutes while authorities investigated, rendered first aid and attempted to clean up the debris left on the roadway as a result of the crash. At this time, the police investigation is still ongoing. There is no word on those injured, the extent of the injuries or whether the injuries are life-threatening.

Accident with Injuries on Burncoat Street

The Worcester Police Department was called to the scene of an injury accident around 1:00 on Sunday, June, 17th. Responding officers quickly arrived to the 100 block of Burncoat Street where the accident took place. Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision. Upon their arrival to the accident, officers also discovered that at least one person suffered injuries in this crash. The accident scene was quickly while medical personnel rendered first aid to those injured in the accident.

The police department investigation remains ongoing at this time. Most details, including the names of those involved and the condition of the injured have been withheld at this time. Worcester Police have assigned case number 2018000065417 to this accident investigation.

One Killed in Tractor Trailer Collision on I-84

Authorities were called to a crash on I-84 at approximately 12:30 am Sunday morning. Upon arrival they discovered a collision between a tractor trailer and two other vehicles. Both sides of the roadway were immediately closed for investigation.

According to state police, they located a tractor trailer in a ditch headed toward a set of trees on the eastbound side of the highway. The other vehicle involved in the crash flipped over and landed upside down against a concrete barrier located in the highway median. Sadly, at least one person died and another person suffered injuries from the crash. Officials have not released the identities of anyone involved in the accident. Approximately 80 gallons of fuel leaked out from the trailer after the crash. State hazmat teams were called in to clean up the spill. The highway was closed for about 12 hours while police investigated. The road was reopened at about 12;30 pm this afternoon.

Accident with Injuries on Plantation Street

An accident involving multiple vehicles and injuries was reported to the Worcester Police Department on Saturday morning. Officers received the call at approximately 3:00 am. They were dispatched to Plantation Street on report of an accident with possible injuries. As officers began arriving on scene they quickly discovered that the accident did involve injuries to at least one driver.

Medical personnel were then called out to the scene where those injured received treatment. The accident scene was secured by officers. Traffic in the area was diverted while the investigation remained ongoing. Eventually, the accident scene was cleared by Worcester Police and traffic returned to normal shortly afterwards. Police have not identified the drivers involved in this accident and the extent of injuries is unknown at the moment.

Multi Vehicle Accident, Fires on I-93

A multiple vehicle accident occurred on I-93 near exit 15 Sunday afternoon. The sequence of the crash remains unclear, however, police in Dorcester were called to the scene at approximately noon. Upon arrival, they discovered a chaotic scene. One of the many vehicles involved in the crash had caught fire. The result was a huge pillar of black smoke overspreading both sides of the highway. Traffic in both directions was snarled as fire officials worked to extinguish the flames.

Medical personnel quickly responded to the scene. They administered medical treatment to those injured in the crash. Miraculously, it appears that although there are injuries, all drivers escaped the flames in time to avoid what would have likely been a fatal accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time. Authorities were on scene for several hours while the investigation of the accident continued. Few other details have been released and those involved in the crash have not been identified.

Driver Identified in Chelsea Bicycle Hit and Run

The driver in a hit and run crash with a bicyclist has been identified by authorities. Previously, we reported that a bicyclist was hit on Saturday night on Revere Beach Parkway. The bicyclist was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital. The driver fled his vehicle and left the vehicle at the collision scene with the bicycle still lodged underneath. Later, police apprehended the driver about a mile away in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

Police in Revere have now identified the driver as 27 year old Josue Flores-Ochoa. Ochoa has been arrested and charged with several offenses, including leaving the scene of a crash, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI-Liquor. The remainder of the accident remains under investigation. Massachusetts State Police are assisting local authorities in the investigation.

Injury Accident Reported on Hilton Avenue

The Worcester Police Department responded to multiple injury accidents on Saturday. One accident occurred early in the day, just after midnight. That is when officers received a call to respond to the 1 block of Hilton Avenue, on the east side of the city. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a crash with injuries involving multiple vehicles. After assessment of the situation, it was determined that medical car was needed on scene. Medical units responded and treated at least one victim for injuries sustained in the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Worcester Police have withheld any further information about the accident. If we learn additional details, including names of those involved, we will bring the story to you as soon as possible. The extent of injuries also remains unknown at this time.

Bicycle Accident Reported in Dennis

A Cape Cod area bicycle accident took place late Saturday evening. The accident happened in Dennis, Massachusetts on Lower County Road near Shad Hole Road. The Dennis Police Department was dispatched to the scene of the accident. After their arrival, they quickly secured the scene and began their investigation of the crash.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the bicyclist was traveling on Lower County Road when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle, also traveling on Lower County Road. The bicyclist suffered serious injuries in the crash. An ambulance also responded to the scene and EMTs administered medical treatment to the injured bicyclist. The bicyclist’s injuries, however, required hospitalization. He was later transported to Cape Cod Hospital where he is receiving additional treatment. The condition of the bicyclist is unknown at this time and his identity has not been revealed. Dennis police continue to investigate the crash. Authorities have not revealed whether they intend to charge the driver in connection with the accident.

Two Vehicle Crash on Route 134 Injures Two

A two vehicle crash took place on Cape Cod Saturday evening. The accident, which happened on Route 134 near Bob Crowell Road, resulted in injuries. Police in Dennis, Massachusetts were called to the scene Saturday night. Upon arrival, they found two vehicles involved in the crash. They also found that two people involved in the accident suffered injuries which were serious enough to require hospitalization. An ambulance was called to the scene and the injured victims were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. Their condition is unknown at this time. No word on the identity of those involved or a cause of the crash.
