In disturbing news out of Boston, a motorist is accused of a hit and run crash causing personal injury.  The incident allegedly took place around 7:00 pm on Monday evening at Franklin Park Road within the Boston City limits.   Police initially responded to a call regarding an accident at that location and dispatchers sent  Officer Joseph Simonson of the BPD out to investigate.

When Officer Simonson arrived he discovered one person suffering from injuries received in the accident.  The injured victim was tended to by medical personnel while Officer Simonson investigated the crash.  After speaking with witnesses on scene, Officer Simonson determined that this was a multi vehicle crash and that one driver fled the scene before police arrival.  The BPD is classifying this incident as a hit and run with personal injuries.   The driver has not been apprehended at this time and there is no word on the condition of the injured victim.  Police could file criminal charges against the hit and run driver.

download-1A pedestrian was hurt in an accident which occurred on Monday in Boston.  A call came in to the Boston Police Department just before 7:00 am regarding a pedestrian accident with injuries.  Upon receiving word of the crash, dispatchers immediately sent a Boston Police officer to the scene to investigate.   Officer Eliot Telisnder handled this particular crash investigation on behalf of the department.

When he got to the scene at Dartmouth Street, Officer Telisnor encountered a pedestrian that had been injured while walking in the roadway.  The pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle and injured in the process.  The driver of the vehicle remained on scene to cooperate with police investigation.  The injured pedestrian was treated at the scene by EMTs.  Police have not indicated that the driver will be charged, however, it is unclear exactly what happened to cause this pedestrian accident.  Neither the pedestrian or the driver have been identified at this time.

Accident at Exit 22 in WorcesterThe Massachusetts Turnpike was the site of an injury accident on Monday evening.  Around 9:00 pm, a call came in to the Weston, Massachusetts Police headquarters regarding reports of an injury accident at 95 and 128 on the turnpike.  Patrol officers on duty were quickly sent out to the scene to conduct an investigation into the crash.

As officers quickly worked to secure the crash scene, traffic had to be diverted from the area.  This resulted in some delays for passing motorists, although the relatively late hour of the crash meant that delays were not as bad as they otherwise would have been.  Officers further took note that one person was injured in the crash.  Medical aid was given on scene.  There is no current update on the condition of those injured or the sequence of events leading up to the crash.  Identities of the drivers and any passengers involved in the crash were not immediately released by the Weston police.

Road Closed at Grist Mill Due to AccidentA crash with injuries was reported to police late Monday evening in Quncy, Massachusetts.  This crash occurred within the city limits at Furnace Brook Parkway near Copeland Street.  Officers with the Quincy Police Department got the call around 9:00 in the evening.  They arrived to discover an accident with more than one car and injuries to the involved victims.

Medical personnel were summoned to Furnace Brook Parkway to render first aid to those injured.  Treatment was given on scene.  There is no word on whether anyone was hospitalized due to this crash or to what extent the injuries are considered to be serious.  Police are still investigating what might have caused the Monday evening crash to occur.  No indication yet on whether any of the drivers involved will be charged for their role in the accident.  The accident left no residual effects on traffic as it was quickly cleared and motorists in the Quincy area resumed their morning commute.

Serious Car Crash on Grafton StreetAn early morning crash in Raynham has caused serious injuries to at least one person.  Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision which took place on I-495, just after the early morning commute was getting started for many drivers.  Officers in Raynham received the call for help at about 6:00 am this morning.   Upon arrival on scene, they located a crash in the median strip of the divided highway at exit 7.

Unfortunately, there are also reported injuries in this accident.  The mechanism of the crash remains uncertain as the investigation is still active.  The injuries, however, have been described as “serious.”  Medical personnel continue to tend to the injured victims.  We hope to bring you additional updates on this wreck throughout the day as we learn new information.  In the meantime, we will continue to hope that serious injuries are not life-threatening and that those involved will be able to recover from this early morning crash.

Vehicle Accident on Plantation StreetI-93 has been the source of several injury and other accidents over the past several days.  Police in the area have been busy responding to multiple calls for assistance on this road, including some serious injury accidents.  Another I-93 collision occurred on Monday evening.   This time, the crash happened at approximately 10:00 pm near the Tobin Bridge at exit 27.   Officers were dispatched to a multiple vehicle accident causing injuries at that time.

The injuries sustained in the crash are unclear at this time, however, we do know that some injuries were sustained.   Medical assistance was provided to those on scene.  Police have not provided any updates on the condition of victims, however, they also did not note that any injuries were life-threatening which we are glad to hear.  I-93 traffic resumed to normal and was flowing normally again late Monday night and into Tuesday morning as police cleared the crash scene and roadway of debris and vehicles.

images-1-3Tuesday morning got off to a rough start in Sherewsbury, Massachusetts with a mutiple car accident.  The accident occurred at Route 290, near Route 140.  The incident happened very early in the morning, just after 1:00 am.  Shrewsbury police officers came to the scene of the crash and discovered that the impact of the collision had caused one vehicle to roll over onto its side, pinning the driver inside momentarily.

Officers noted that the crash involved injuries.  The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.  The crash resulted in difficulty for motorists passing through the area, although because it occurred at an off-peak hour, the effect on traffic was not as great as it would have been otherwise.  The names of those injured and their conditions are not available at this time.  Police remained on scene for a brief period of time to investigate before leaving and re-opening the area for traffic.

Car Crashes into Restaurant in PeabodyThe Worcester Police Department began the week by investigating a hit and run collision Sunday night.  The collision occurred on Perkins Street, just west of the downtown area.  Police officers were dispatched to the scene at around 9:00 pm in reference to the accident involving two motor vehicles.  When they arrived, however, they were able to locate only one of the vehicles.   As it turns out, the other driver decided to flee from the accident scene before police could arrive.

After taking statements and measurements from the scene of the crash, officers classified the incident as a hit and run.  Unfortunately, there were also injuries associated with this hit and run accident.  There is at least no indication that the injuries sustained were severe enough to be life-threatening.  Although there is no word on charges, it is expected that the driver who left the scene will eventually face charges related to leaving the scene of an accident.  At this time, the driver has not been apprehended by police.  The wreck investigation remains ongoing.

Accident on Pleasant StreetPolice officers in our home town of Boston were busy Sunday morning responding to numerous reports of vehicle accidents.  Some accidents were relatively minor in nature and involved only property damage but no injuries.  However, in a few cases motorists suffered injuries in multi-car accidents.

One such accident occurred at 280 Southampton Street on the city’s south side.  Police received a call around 10:45 am referencing an accident involving injury.  Officer Bienvenido Delacruz responded to the call.  Officer Delacruz quickly identified the injured victim and called for medical assistance.  The injured person was treated on scene.  There is no current word on their condition.  The accident is still under investigation by the BPD and there is no word on the cause at this time.  Identities of those involved have also been withheld.

Accident Reported on Abbotsford StreetA crash with injuries took place in Boston late on Sunday morning.  Boston Police received a call about the accident just after 11:00 am.  Officer Richard Anthony Errico with the Boston Police Department responded quickly to the scene at 108 Cushing Avenue.  Officer Errico identified the vehicles involved and began an investigation on scene.

Unfortunately, the accident did involve injuries to at least one driver.  That driver received medical treatment at the crash scene.  There was no further word on their condition at this time and no other details have been released regarding this accident since Sunday morning.  There is also no indication whether the Boston Police plan to charge anyone responsible for the accident. We hope for a speedy recovery for all involved.
