Hit-and-run accidents can be particularly devastating as they can leave victims behind who are in dire need of help and assistance. Drivers who act recklessly and criminally in this way are not showing any respect to the lives of the victims they have hurt.
On May 21, police were looking for an SUV that sideswiped a police car. Using serial numbers that were found on vehicle parts at the crash scene, they were able to track down the hit-and-run driver.
Officer Gage was in the cruiser at a traffic stop at 2 a.m. on Leominster-Shirley Road when his car was hit. He sustained minor injuries, and the driver sped away from the scene.
Using the parts they found at the scene, police were able to track down the hit-and-run driver as Casey Hargraves, 24, of Shirley. She has been charged with negligent driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Accidents and Injuries
Vehicle accidents can cause severe injury. Fortunately, in this accident, only minor injuries were sustained, but, in many cases, injuries can be quite severe. When drivers flee the scene of an accident, they are leaving victims behind to suffer. This is a criminal act, and it is not fair to victims to have to be left to deal with what happened in this way. Victims deserve to seek compensation and assistance for their injuries.
We know how severe car accidents can be and how they can negatively impact victim’s lives. At the Jeffrey Glassman Injury Lawyers, we are committed to raising awareness about the importance of safe driving and the responsibility we all have to one another while on the road. We know that accidents do happen to even a cautious driver. When they do, we are here to help victims recover what they are owed so they can return to their lives.
