Omarosa Manigault Suffers Leg Injury at White House

Omarosa Manigualt, of “Celebrity Apprentice” fame, known generally by her first name, Omarosa, injured her foot or ankle while at the White House, according to TMZ.  Omarosa was at the White House as President Donald J. Trump appointed her as the director of communications for his office of public liaison.  This basically means she was named an adviser to Mr. Trump.

While the extent of her injury is unknown, as it could be either a fracture or a strain of some kind, it has been reported that she injured her leg at the White House and was then taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland on the campus of what was formally known as the Bethesda Naval Hospital before Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC). She was transported to Walter Reed in a government vehicle.  She was likely first examined and treated by White House medical personnel before being transported to the hospital.  Omarosa was spotted wearing an orthopedic boot on her left ankle at the ABC News studio in Washington, DC.  The exact cause of her injury is also unknown.

As our Boston personal injury attorneys can explain, slip and fall accidents can result in serious damage.  While a fall accident can occur indoors, as this one likely did, they are also very common occurrences outside.  This is especially true during the winter months when the sidewalks are covered with ice and snow.  As those who live in Boston know, it can snow for many months, even into May in some years.  This is lot of opportunity for many people to become seriously injured.

One of the most important things you can do if you slip and hit the ground hard is make sure you report your injury to the owner of the property and make sure to seek immediate medical attention.  Many people are embarrassed when they slip and fall.  This is understandable, because it is a natural human reaction for someone not to want to be the center of attention.  However, there is nothing to be embarrassed about.

Not only that, you could be seriously injured and not even realize it right away.  When someone hits the ground hard, they may be in a lot of pain but not realize the extent of their injuries. It can take some time to see how bad a sprain will get or even a bad bruise, which may not be fully evident until much later.  We have even seen cases where someone fractured a bone or multiple bones and did not realize that until they went to a doctor the next day.   However, it is very helpful for your health and your personal injury case to seek immediate medical attention.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the defendant may try to claim you weren’t injured on their property if you didn’t report your injury and did not seek immediate medical attention.  This doesn’t mean you don’t have a case, but it may be more difficult, and you may be relying on witnesses or hoping there was camera footage or your accident.
