Hit and Run on Belmont Street

A hit and run took place in Worcester, Massachusetts on Saturday evening, June 16th.  The incident occurred in the 100 block of Belmont Street.  Worcester police officers were dispatched out to the scene when the call came in around 9:00 pm.  Upon arriving on scene, officers located a victim who had been injured in a crash with another vehicle.  The driver who caused the crash, however, fled the scene before authorities could arrive.  The injured victim received treatment from emergency medical personnel on scene.

Police have not provided a description of the vehicle that they are looking for in the hit and run accident nor have they released the identity of the injured victim or the extent of their injuries.  We certainly hope that they are able to locate the person responsible for this accident.

Hit and Run Accidents

Car accidents are a negative event even under the best of circumstances. Although automobile accidents are an unfortunate fact of life across Boston and surrounding areas, they are made worse when the responsible driver irresoponsibly leaves the scene of the crash.  A hit and run accident poses many special problems that a typical accident does not.  Sometimes the other driver is never located and therefore they are not forced to be responsible for the damage that they have caused.

So what do you do in case of  a hit and run?   First, you need to speak with a personal injury attorney.  If the other driver cannot be located, your attorney may still be able to help you recover for your injuries and out of pocket expenses.  There are many options available to you, including making a claim against your own insurance policy or filing a civil suit.

At the Jeffrey Glassman Injury Lawyers, we are experienced and aggressive Boston personal injury attorneys.  We have assisted hit and run victims in recovering compensation for their injuries on numerous occasions.  A  hit and run accident does not have to leave you feeling helpless and victimized.
