On June 12, a vehicle accident was reported to the police in Eastham. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene quickly after receiving news of the crash around three in the afternoon. The car involved two vehicles, and rescue workers evaluated five people who were involved in the crash. The collision occurred on Route 6 south of Nauset Road.
Two people were brought to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were considered not life-threatening according to Fire Department Captain William Sprague. Traffic in the southbound lanes of the highway was temporarily reduced to one lane due to the accident, but the scene was cleared within the hour. No fatalities were reported.
